Human Brain, the most important organ of the nervous system.
Its located on the
top of the head and its protected by a strong bone called crane. This organ has a structure as other mammals, but the first one has a developed cortex. This is the critical difference between the human and the rest of the animals. In effect, the extension of the cerebral cortex in the frontal lobes is associated with the characteristics human functions: reasoning, planning, self-control, and abstract thinking. The crucial physiologic function of this organ is involved in the data transit. All the information that travel around the body is collected and translated by the brain. After a complicated interaction between neurons with the neurotransmitters, chemical interactions, the central organ sends an answer for the body. Those information could be sound, light, pain, and others. Brain Parts. Cerebral Cortex. Its almost symmetric and divided like the brain in general, in two hemispheres: the right and left one. But it is divided in lobes too: Frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal. Each one is associated with a particular corporal and cognitive functions. Frontal Lobe. It has the control of the resolution of problems, creative and abstract thinking, judge, intellect, attention, behavior, physic reactions, coordinate movements and personality. Parietal Lobe. The more significant functions of this lobe are the movement, calculation, orientation and some kinds of recognition. Temporal Lobe. It has the control of the visual memory, hearing memory and voice comprehension. It helps to control the language capacities. Occipital Lobe. It takes control of the vision and reading comprehension, basically. Other brain parts: Striatum. Its located in the walls of the cerebral hemispheres. Inside it, there are the correlation and coordination centers. It has control of the cadence of the movement and the facial expressions during a conversation. Brainstem. All the vital functions for a healthy life has an origin in common, the brainstem. Even the blood pressure, breathing and heartbeat. Cerebellum. Its known like little brain too and its considered the oldest part of the brain in the evolutionary scale. It has the control of corporal essential functions: coordination, balance and body posture.
Main Functions of the Brain.
Brain has the vital function of keeping the human alive. All that the human thinks, feels, of does, are related with specific sites and function of this organ. Those are some of them: Sensitive: Some receivers get the data from the rest of the body. Those information arrives from inside and outside the body. Receivers caught the data through energy signals. Movement. Brain controls voluntary and involuntary movements. Integrative. That means all the mental activities like attention, memory, learning and language. Cognition. Many people think that emotions and thoughts are implemented by physic structures like neurons and it depends of the condition of the brain. Others think that mind with feelings and those kind of concepts are independent of the physic brain structure. Now at days it doesnt exist an absolute proof of this correlation.
