Biomechanics plays important role

in a research of ergonomic. Biomechanics
is the study of the structure and function
of biological systems such as humans,
animals, plants, organs, and cells but in
ergonomic biomechanics just focused on
human structure and biological system.
In industrial engineering biomechanics
commonly used to analyze the
mechanisms of body movement in doing
a job or activity. It also study about
interactions of workers with the
equipment, machinery, and materials, so
that workers can improve the
performance and on the other side to
minimize the risk of work injury.

The analysis of biomechanics is very needed by

worker or employees to avoid the fatigue and

worker safety items are safe or not good for lifting.
Thats why biomechanics plays important role in a
research of ergonomic.

RULA Rapid Upper Limb

Assessment, is a method to
score the movement of
operator upper body. There
are 4 score for RULA, 1 means
no problem, 2 means need
further check and
modification, 3 means
immediate check and
modification, 4 means need
modification.

REBA Rapid Entire

Body Assessment, is a
method to score the
movement of
operator entire body.
REBA also have
scoring system and it
is the same as RULA

Recommended Weight Limit (RWL) is a lifting

equation which defines the maximum acceptable
weight (load) that nearly healthy employees could
lift over the course of an 8 hour shift without
increasing the risk of musculoskeletal disorder
(MSD) to the lower back.
