nodes as you analyze your data, or you can create them beforehand. This will largely depend on the
kindofdatayouareanalyzingaswellasthechosenmethodologyofyourproject.
TocreateanewNode,clickAnalyzeontheRibbon,thenNewNode.Youwillneedtonameyour
newNodeandprovideadescription.YournewNodewillbestoredintheNodesfolderautomatically,
butifyouhaveexistingNodesyoucanchoosetonestyournewNodeunderanexistingNode.Check
theAggregatecodingfromchildnodesboxifyouwishtonestNodes.

Codes
Codes can be thought of as quotes you pull from your Sources that embody themes and share
relationshipswithotherSources.YouwillalwaysCodeataNode.Thissimplymeansyourhighlighted
portionofdata(theCode)willbestoredinarelevantcontainer(theNode).YourCodescanbestoredin
multipleNodes.
ToCode,simplyhighlightasectionofrelevanttext(orasegmentofanaudioorvideofile)andCodethe
SelectionataNode.ThiscanbeaccomplishedbyrightclickingandselectingatwhichNodetoCode,or
bygoingtoAnalyzeintheRibbonandselectingwheretocode.Theformeroptionisgenerallymore
cohesivetoasteadyworkflow.

NCapture
NCaptureisabrowseraddonthattakesasnapshotofthewebpageyouarecurrentlyonandsavesit
asafiletypespecifictoNVivowhichthenessentiallyworkslikeaPDF.TheNCapturebuttonislocated
indifferentareasineachbrowser.InChrome,itisjusttotherightoftheURLbar.InInternetExplorer,
it can have multiple locations, either in the Tools bar or the Command Bar. You can import each
NCaptureintoNVivobyselectingtheFromOtherSourcesoptionfromtheExternalDatatabinthe
Ribbon. You can batch import NCaptures rather than one file at a time, streamlining the process.
