Dear Edie Team

I am a teacher in a secondary school in Brighton and for the last 10 years we have taught GCSE
Environmental Science to 14-16 year olds. I just wanted to say how inspirational the weekly edie.net
newsletter is. When I show the students they are always interested and often excited about the
many good news stories that you report on. The reports have generated many interesting
discussions and are a welcome contrast to the negativity and fatalism they see in the main stream
media. Your newsletter lifts my spirits every week and it really does feel like the world is shifting
towards a more sustainable future.
Sadly our government in their wisdom have decided GCSE and A-Level Environmental Science should
be scrapped as qualifications so I am taking my last cohort of students through this course now. I will
endeavour to share my enthusiasm of your site with the Geography and Science teachers and
students.
