Self Actualization:
A self-actualizer is a person who is living creatively and fully using his or her
potentials. What a man can do, he must do. It refers to the desire for selffulfillment, namely, to the tendency for him to become actualized in what he
is potentially. While the theory is generally portrayed as a fairly rigid
hierarchy, Maslow noted that the order in which these needs are fulfilled
does not always follow this standard progression. For example, he notes that
for some individuals, the need for self-esteem is more important than the
need for love. For others, the need for creative fulfillment may supersede
even the most basic needs. In his studies, Maslow found that self-actualizers
share similarities.
Aesthetic Needs:
The need for beauty and order, creativity, design and art. An indirect concern

Cognitive Needs:
The desire for knowledge and understand. The need for meaning and

structure relevant situations in meaningful, integrated ways" and "a need to
understand and make reasonable the experiential world. Those with a high
need for cognition may be inclined towards high elaboration
Esteem Needs:
Feeling competent. Self-esteem and self-respect. The respect of others,
socially and at work. All humans have a need to feel respected; this includes
the need to have self-esteem and self-respect. Esteem presents the typical
human desire to be accepted and valued by others. People often engage in a
profession or hobby to gain recognition. These activities give the person a
sense of contribution or value. Low self-esteem or an inferiority complex may
result from imbalances during this level in the hierarchy.

Feeling safe from potentially dangerous physical and psychological situations
and events. Security of health, work, money, routine and familiarity. With
their physical needs relatively satisfied, the individual's safety needs take
precedence and dominate behavior. In the absence of physical safety.

What are your future plans, in the next three years? (Example)
My dream job would include all of the responsibilities and duties in this
position you're trying to fill. I also thrive in a fast-changing environment
where there's business growth. Your plans call for expanding
internationally during the next year, and this would satisfy one of my
ultimate goals of being involved in an international corporation.
