STUDENTS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE CONCEPT OF POETRY.
LIBRARIAN WILL:

PROVIDE REFRESHER POETRY LESSON BEFORE BEGINNING ASSIGNMENT.

Direct instruction: Refresher poetry lesson. Provide lesson on Wed 2.0 tool, Padlet.
Modeling and guided practice: Show students how to find book spines to create a 3 line
poem. Write my poem on Padlet.
o Independent practice: Students will be given the opportunity to choose 3 books from all the
sections in the library to create their poem. Students will then be allowed the opportunity
to write on the classs Padlet wall.
o Sharing and reflecting: As a class, I will show the Padlet wall and as a class, we will rate the
poems. Each student will have the opportunity to share their poem, as well as the teacher
and myself.
