The story of

'rin davan in Northern India is associated with

history and is an
im portant pilgrim age site. One of its oldest
surviving tem ples is Sri Sri M adan-M ohan
tem ple. Lord C haitanya M ahaprabhu w as able
to locate all the im portant places of Lord
Krishna's pastim es in and around V rindavana.
Later He entrusted the task of establishing the
palces of Lord Krishnas pastim es to one of his
intim ate assoiciate S anantana-G osw am i.

with his family. A great goudiya saint
Advaita acharya gave Choube a
beautiful deity of Sri Madan-Mohan

One day Sri Sanatana Goswami*

was doing his regular rounds of
Madhukari-cooked food offered
as alms, in Mathura.
He came to the brahmin

SHOCKED
He saw the brahmins children
were playing wjth Sri li/ladan-Mohan !

n intim ate assoiciate of Lord C haitanya M ahaprabhu

He immediately instructed Choube

about the rules and regulations
about how to treat a deity....

Dont you know

He is Supreme person?
You cannot allow
your children to play
k with Him like this, a
mmm

Oh I am
sorry ...I really
dont know.

Choube instructed his children

not to play with Madan-Mohan.

I was happy playing N.

with the children as
one of their family member.
Now that you have introduced
so many rules and
regulations that I am
,

not comfortable....

Oh forgive me for
my offense... my
Lord..

This made Madan-Mohan upset, He

appeared in Sanatana Goswamis
dream.

Sanatana Goswami woke up and

decided to seek apology from the
brahmin.

The same night Sri Madan-Mohan

also appeared in brahmin Choubes
dream.

Next day Sanatana Goswami came

to meet Choube to seek apology.

Sir, forgive me for

my offense.

I had my instruction
from Sri Madan-Mohan

He rushed inside his house and

brought Sri Madan-Mohan
and gave to Sanatana Goswami.
Oh....no I am a mendicant
What good I can offer to
My Lord - 1 live on dry
chappathis*.

take Sri Madan-Mohaiywith him.
Saintly people eanonly to m aintain tljtir body- so they eat dry
chappatis - flat brdad m ade of w h e a t/lo u r w ithout oil on fire.

That night Sri Madan-Mohan appeared

in Sanatana Goswamis dream

Next day Sanatana Goswami brought

Sri Madan-Mohan and placed Him under
a tree near his bhajan kutir at Dyadasadity
hill and resumed his writing works.*

Saying this He walked away.

Madan-Mohan
He can help you.

The merchant prayed to

Sri Madan-Mohan for help
I will come on my
way back....thank you..!

Reaching Agra the merchant sold
all his goods for a good profit and
returned to Sanatana Goswami
on his way.

He offered a lot of wealth to

Sanatana Goswami

Kindly accept this

With his wealth the merchant

built a beautiful temple and
with great pomp installed

w I dont need this...use

this to build a nice temple
for Madan-Mohan.

Later hearing about Sri Madan-Mohan

temple ...
King Pratap Rudra of Puri sent two
deities to Sri Madan-Mohan temple
in Vrindavan.
Sri Madan -Mohan instructed His
pujaris to place Lalitha the big one and
Srimati Radha the small one on His
either side.
