Summary
Hilary du Cros has taught in Hong Kong and Macau and has conducted research and
consulting in the Asia Pacific region over last 25 years. She has a unique perspective on
culture, heritage and arts management, marketing and of sustaining cultural diversity. Dr du
Cros also has a long history of active involvement in organizations on a national and
international level, such as United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO),
International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and UNESCO. She has published
over 115 works, including books, journal articles, conference papers, monographs and book
chapters, and written over 250 consulting reports. Books include a collaboration with Yokshiu F. Lee on "Cultural Heritage Management in China" (2007) and the popular textbook
with Bob McKercher on "Cultural Tourism: The Partnership between Tourism and Cultural
Heritage Management" (2002 and soon to be published in a second edition).

research is being conducted on potential congestion and social impacts of the
development of tourism on Macaus local community, urban environment and
