PURPOSE
The following Parker Drilling standard work apparel policy provides business unit management a
formalized description of the minimum standards for protective work garments normally issued to
Parker rig-based and support facility personnel. The apparel standard is designed to reasonably
address:
The result is a basic three-tiered work ensemble of safety-oriented garments which allow
selection flexibility to achieve an acceptable level of protection in all work categories.
SCOPE
This document applies to all Parker operations that require issue of standard work apparel.
Variance to these standards may be granted due to operator contract requirement (FRC) or local
regulatory regime stipulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The QA/HSE Director is responsible for the administration, interpretation, and maintenance of this
document.

Ensemble 1 - General Craft: The traditional industry work ensemble issued to rig craft
personnel that is composed of either a standard 100% cotton coverall or overall with 100% cotton
work shirt or 100% cotton short sleeve T-shirt with Parker Drilling logo screen printed or stitched.
The general craft ensemble is available in tropical weight (short and long sleeve) or cold weather
insulated (long sleeve) styles.
Ensemble 2 Welder/Fabricator: The traditional welder or fabricator ensemble is composed of
a two- piece outfit which includes a long sleeve shirt and pant collection of heavy duty 100%
cotton. An insulated 100% cotton outer jacket may be included for cold weather applications.
Ensemble 3 - Catering, Utility, and Medic: The catering, utility, and medic ensemble is
composed of a two-piece outfit which includes a white short or long sleeve shirt and pant
collection of medium weight 100% cotton. The catering, utility, and medic ensemble is designed to
stand up to repeated bleachings to maintain hygiene standards.
REFLECTIVE STRIPING
A 3M Scotchlite 8935 or equivalent 1 minimum width silver reflective striping material should
be permanently affixed to both the general craft and welder/fabricator ensembles as indicated on
Figure 1. Catering and utility ensembles do not require reflective striping. All reflective striping
should conform to the ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 Level 2 retroflective performance criteria.

two-way brass front zipper and leg zippers on Nomex tape with snap down covers, inside flys, and storm
cuffs in sleeves. All sub arctic garments should be constructed with safety stitched seams and marked
with reflective striping as referenced above.
