Assam University (a Central University)

is one of the higher learning institu
tions of North -Eastern Part of India. The
Department of Commerce, is one of the
eight departments of Assam
University
Diphu Campus that started functioning
from
July, 2007 at Diphu, Karbi
Anglong, Assam. The department offers
Master of Comerce, Diploma on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, M.Phil and
Ph.D Programmes. The department has
laid special focus on entrepreneurship,
small business studies and tribal area
development. The department offers
specialization in the areas of Accounting
Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship
etc., and the department regularly
organizes
seminars,
symposia
and
workshops in such areas.
How to reach Diphu
Diphu is well connected by Indian Railways.
All the trains including Rajdhani Express
have stoppage at Diphu Railway station. The
nearest domestic Airport is Dimapur which is
about 40 km from Diphu and the international Airport is Guwahati (260km). There
are daily Bus services from major towns of
Assam including Guwahati city. There are
many trains from Guwahati and Dimapur
which have stoppage at Diphu. The distance
of Assam University Diphu campus is 8 km
from the Diphu town. There are many taxi,
Autorikshaw and Bus services from Diphu
town to the campus.
