In the Chapter 13 topic, the learnings I have acquired are mainly on the different aspects which it focuses which are the Education, Source of Income/Economic Aspect, Religion, Household Description, Housing, Health, Socio-Political Aspect, and the Survival needs. But the main topic which I think I learned the most from is the Socio-Political Aspect of the community. About the Socio-Political Aspect of the community, A bulk number of survey respondents have cited that watching television as their favorite recreation activity. Exchange of stories or pakikipag-huntahan with their neighbors, evidently practiced by housewives trying to kill time was the second most favorite. Engaging in various sports also followed. Board games, such as chess and bingo, are also popular. Only two formal organizations are mentioned to be actively working with the residents of barangay Luningning. These two are the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and the religiously-affiliated organization of Couples for Christ (CFC). Barangay Luningning is surrounded by infamous oil depots of Pandacan. The houses are made of plywood and cement materials, a lot of children running without footwear. Mothers, usually with their babies stay at nearby community park exchanging stories, it is also like bonding with family because of interaction with each other. And their husbands waits in line for pedicab customers which is very tiring especially when its a hot day. Young male adults can also be found playing basketball while some chooses to quietly play chess on benches. Female youths sell hotdogs and samalamig after coming from school. According to some interviews, a number of petty crimes and drug-related violence involved by other people were recorded during the past.
Chapter 14: Project Development
1. Who will be your primary concerns for the project?
~Primary concerns like the problems of a community that you can try to resolve it by planning a project. Gather volunteers who wants to help for the project if you want the project to be successful and help other people who are in need 2. What potential problems arising in your community as a probable project proposal? ~ Probably loss of water, because every day in our community maybe between 8 to 9 pm, expect that there is no water that will come out from your faucets, showers and etc. because they cut it maybe to save it. Another is people who park their car even though in our community the road is too narrow to have people doing double parking which causes heavy traffic because it is not just one way traffic its for two way traffic but because of double parking its hard to avoid.
