A very good morning/evening to my English teacher Pn.

Aliza and my fellow

friends. On this wonderful day I would love to share the knowledge and inrest of mine
in modern technologies. It is crystal clear that, all of us are familiar with technology
and use them all the time. But there are many stuff that we dont now about the
innovations in technology such as 3D Printing,Worlds Fastest Motor and
Watermilland etc.
The worlds fastest motor was developed by researchers at ETH Zurichs Department
of Power Electronics and this motor can spin in excess of 1 Million revolutions per
minutes.As a comparison, collapsed stars spin at 60000 rpm,blender at about 30000
rpm and high performance engines at around 10000rpm.
Johathan Ritchey has invented the Watermill, which is an atmospheric water
generator. It converts air into fresh water. This latest technology invention produces
fresh water at a cost of about 3 cents a liter (1 quart). Originally designed for areas
that do not have clean drinking water, the Watermill is for households that prefer an
eco-friendly, cost effective alternative to bottled water.
And now we go on to the next invention which is the most interesting invention in the
world.Smartphones.thats right smartphones are things we are really obsessed
with.Smartphoneis amobile phonewith an advancedmobile operating systemwhich
combines features of apersonal computeroperating system with other features useful
for mobile or handheld use.In 2014, sales of smartphones worldwide topped 1.2
billion, which was up 28% from 2013.There are two main and some other Operating
Systems in these smartphone. They are iOs and AndroidOS.these are the main
OSes.Other than that u can find Microsoft,BlackberyOS,SymbianOs and others.The
most commonly used is Android because this OS is used in almost 75% of
smartphones whereas the iOS is used only in Apple products.
Now let me talk about what is Android.Androidis an open-source platform founded in
October 2003 by Andy Rubin and backed by Google, along with major hardware and
software developers (such
asIntel,HTC,ARM,MotorolaandSamsung) that form theOpen Handset Alliance.
[26][27]In October 2008,HTCreleased the HTC Dream, the e execution of native
applications and third-party apps which are available viaGoogle Play, which launched
in October 2008 asAndroid Market. By Q4 2010, Android became the best-selling
smartphone platform
talk abt the version

iOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. and distributed exclusively
for Apple hardware. It is the operating system that powers the company'siDevices. In
2007, Apple introduced the iPhone, the first device to use iOS and one of the first
smartphones to use a multi-touch interface. The iPhone was notable for its use of a
large touchscreen for direct finger input as its main means of interaction, instead of a
stylus, keyboard, or keypad as typical for smartphones at the time.[23]In 2008, Apple
introduced theApp Store, which allowed any iPhone to install third-party native
applications. Featuring over 500 applications at launch,[48]the App Store eventually
achieved 1 billion downloads in the first year, and 75 billion by mid-2014.[49][50]In
January 2015, Apple announced that they have now sold one billion iOS devices.

Im not a big fan of Windows so I am not gonna talk abt it much. Its the same as how
the laptop which runs on Windows8 look. Not much difference.
After talking about the OSes lets talk abt the personal assitants these OSes provides.
Siri(iOS)is a part ofApple Inc.'siOSwhich works as anintelligent personal
assistantandknowledge navigator. The feature uses anatural language user
interfaceto answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by
delegating requests to a set ofWeb servicessuch asWolfram Alpha. The software,
both in its original version and as an iOS feature, adapts to the user's individual
language usage and individual searches (preferences) with continuing use, and returns
results that are individualized.Siri was originally introduced as an iOS application
available in theApp Storeby Siri,Inc., which was acquired by Apple on April 28,
2010.Siri is also integrated intoApple Watch'swatchOS, and can be activated by
holding down the Home Button or by saying "Hey, Siri."
Cortana(WindowsOS)
Cortanais anintelligent personal assistantcreated byMicrosoftforWindows Phone
8.1.Cortana was demonstrated for the first time at the
[1]
MicrosoftBUILDDeveloperConference (April 24, 2014) inSan Francisco. It has
been launched as a key ingredient of Microsoft's planned "makeover" of the
[3]
futureoperating systemsfor Windows Phone and Windows. It is named
afterCortana,[8]asynthetic intelligencecharacter in Microsoft'sHalovideo game
franchise originating inBungiefolklore
And I am very sorry to say that the personal assistant in Android is useless.
Believe me its a waste thing to be in a device.
Now let me tell u about the invention by Google which is really impressive
Have you heard about Googles Project ARA?
Project Arais the codename for an initiative that aims to develop anopen
hardware[18]platform for creating highlymodular smartphones.[19]The platform
will include a structural frame or endoskeleton that holds smartphone modules of the
owner's choice, such as a display, camera or an extra battery. It is a smartphone which
you can personalize for yourself. This includes the just a frame and some pieces of
blocks and a screen. So this is how it work, lets say you like to take photos u can have a
bigger block of camera which has higher megapixels and etc.Draw and explain.
Next lets move on to Google Glass.I am sure that all of you are familiar with
it.Google Glassis a type ofwearable technologywith anoptical head-mounted
[9]
display(OHMD). It was developed byGoogle X with the mission of producing a
mass-marketubiquitous computer.[1]Google Glass displays information in
asmartphone-like hands-free format.[10]Wearers communicate with the Internet
vianatural languagevoice commands.[11][12]Google started selling aprototypeof
Google Glass to qualified "Glass Explorers" in the US on April 15, 2013, for a limited
[13]
period for $1,500, before it became available to the public on May 15, 2014,
for
the same price.

On January 15, 2015, Google announced that it would stop producing the Google
Glass prototype but remained committed to the development of the product.
According to Google, Project Glass was ready to "graduate" fromGoogle Labs, the
experimental phase of the project.[14]
Lastly, before ending my speech,I would like to talk about Google Cardboard.Google
Cardboardis avirtual reality(VR) platform developed byGooglefor use with a
fold-out cardboardmountfor amobile phone. It is intended as a low-cost system to
encourage interest and development in VR and VR applications.[1][2]It was created
by David Coz and Damien Henry, Google engineers at theGoogle Cultural Institutein
Paris, in their 20% "Innovation Time Off",[3]and was introduced at theGoogle I/O
2014developers conference forAndroiddevices.to make things clear this is a simpler
and low cost version of Oculus Rift.
