Corporate History
Metric & Multistandard Components
Corporation (MMCC) was founded in 1963
by three Czech entrepreneurs who had a
vision to bring metric and British industrial
components both common and unusual
to US industry. MMCC has never lost sight
of that vision, and today remains committed
to being the largest and most comprehensive
supplier of these parts in the United States.
The companys first office was a modest
4,000 square foot building in Yonkers, NY.
For the first several years, the owners were
the only employees performing all tasks
from sales and purchasing to shipping and
receiving. Their hands-on involvement
with the business guaranteed that things got
done right and got done quickly. The
urgency that they gave to every order no
matter how big or small can still be seen
today.
The founders believed that a well conceived,
detailed catalog was the key to the long-term
success of their business. Although certain
products that we offer may seem rather
mundane, a great deal of technical
information is associated with their
composition and installation. The catalog
was there to provide this information
accurately and concisely. Catalog 6013
continues this tradition today, and is our 13th
major catalog since we first opened our
doors.
In the 1960s and early 1970s, the business
continued to grow. The Yonkers, NY office
quickly became too small to accommodate
the volume of orders and inventory. In 1971,

MMCC move to a 10,000 square foot office

in Elmsford, NY. After three years, once
again that space became too small, so we
built and moved into our current Hawthorne,
NY corporate headquarters office.
During this time of tremendous growth, we
realized that the best way to serve customers
to the West was to open full-stocking
regional branch offices. Our first branch
opened just outside of Chicago, IL, in 1974.
Shortly after, in 1976, the second branch
opened in Dallas, TX. During the 1980s,
each of our locations significantly increased
its physical capacities, either through
expansion or relocation.
In 1993, MMCC established a purchasing
office in Germany to centralize our
European purchasing, and consolidate
incoming freight shipments. The office has
proved to b an invaluable asset to our
customers. In 1995, MMCC opened a fullstocking branch in Atlanta, GA, to solidify
our share of the southeastern US market. In
2000, our Reno, NV branch was added to
the team, finalizing our plan to make every
city in the US reachable by regular UPS
ground service within 2 days. Between the
five locations in the United States, MMCC
now occupies over 175,000 square feet of
office and warehouse space.
Our company is still 100% American owned
by the same three families that started the
business nearly 40 years ago. We look
forward to continued growth and success
through innovation and commitment to our
customers, like you, in this new millennium.

Special Non-Catalog Items
Catalog 6013 represents a very
comprehensive list of metric industrial
components. Our list includes many
consensus DIN/ISO/ANSI standard parts
as well as many unusual proprietary
parts. In order to offer this broad range
of items, we have relationships with a
multitude of manufacturers and
distributors throughout Europe, North
America and the Far East. The list of
products available to us through these
sources is limitless.
You can take advantage of our great
purchasing power to help locate and
procure even the most unusual parts with
record speed. Our own purchasing staff
in Hamburg, Germany is our most
valuable asset when it comes to working
with our European sources. They are
very helpful to us, since they work in the
same time zone and speak the respective
languages of the majority of our
manufacturing sources. So, if you are not
sure what a DIN 74361 is, but know that
you need 500 of size 22x1.5 in a class 10

identify, and source the part for you with
unmatched speed and accuracy.
