Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS)

Introduction
The Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS) is an unclassified web-based
software program serving as an inspection tool comprised of planning, executing, reporting, and
corrective action management. In addition, IGEMS provides IG teams with the capability to
gather trend data on a multitude of inspection variables.
IGEMS is also fielded in the SIPRNet environment. When specifically discussing IGEMS
deployed to the SIPRNet environment, it will be referred to as IGEMS-C. IGEMS provides a
comprehensive inspection management tool that includes:
Inspection Planning
Inspection Scheduling
Collection of Inspector & Augmentee Data
Inspector and Inspection Item Assignments
Deficiencies Process
Documentation and Reporting
Write-up of Vetting Process
Daily Inspector Feedback
Post-Inspection Phase
Basic User Access to Finalized Results in IGEMS only
Roles
IGEMS/IGEMS-C is a role-based application. User access and privileges are dependent upon
assigned roles. There are five primary roles briefly described below. All registered users are
assigned the role of Basic User. Users can be assigned multiple roles. IGEMS/IGEMS-C also
utilizes inspection team roles.

Basic User - Every IGEMS/IGEMS-C user is assigned this role by default. This role
allows the user to view schedules and assigned deficiencies.
Inspector - This role allows a user to be assigned to an inspection. This user performs
one or more of the following functions on an inspection team; Team Chief, Division
Chief, Workcenter Administrator, Murder Board, or Inspector. These inspection roles are
described in the Inspections section of the IGEMS/IGEMS-C training.
Scheduler - This user schedules inspections and may make inspection team assignments.
Planner - This user performs inspection planning activities to include: the assignment of
inspection duties and selection of inspection items.
Administrator - This user manages user accounts and application settings via the Admin
tab on the Home Page. Administrator also assigns deficiencies from the Deficiencies tab
on the IGEMS/IGEMS-C Home Page.

Registration
Registration is required to gain access to IGEMS/IGEMS-C. IGEMS registration includes
completing a digitally signed System Authorization Access Request (SAAR Form 2875) and
submitting the SAAR Form 2875 to the IGEMS Help Desk (email to 554elsg.sbi@us.af.mil).
After approval from the IGEMS Helpdesk, new users can request an IGEMS account by
clicking the Register link on the IGEMS Home Page. The user then fills out the requested
information, and an Administrator will accept or reject the request. This process is described in
detail in the User Registration help. IGEMS-C has more criteria to gain access. In addition to
the above requirements, you also need to have a SIPR account and obtain an Oracle Account
prior to registering for IGEMS-C.
Navigation
Navigating through IGEMS/IGEMS-C is accomplished by using links in the top right corner of
each page, and by menu tabs in the lower portion of the banner.
Training
A web-based CBT at the following link provides IGEMS basic user familiarization:
https://opoc4j.hill.af.mil/igems/WebHelp/IGEMS_CBT/Introduction.htm
Hands-on software training is provided at the local level by the appropriate IG office.
Inspection Planning Activities
As you saw in the introduction section, IGEMS provides assistance in planning for an inspection.
The specific tasks to be accomplished in IGEMS during the planning phase are:
Loading the inspection into IGEMS (Scheduler)
Planning the inspection (Planner)
o Assign inspectors
o Assign inspectors to inspection items
o Assign inspector duties
o Develop itinerary (inspection schedule) for all team members
o Assign costs for the inspection (predominantly TDY costs)
Again, the above steps represent the major activities done with IGEMS during the planning
phase. The details on how to do those activities with the software are provided during local
IGEMS training.
