DESIGN HOTELS™ PRESENTS ITS NEW PROGRAMME


BUSINESS SPACES+

Berlin, 15 July 2008 – Design Hotels™ announces its new programme


tailor-made for the travel market. Selected members of the international
hotel consortium now offer a bundle of services that meet the needs of
companies and their travellers. The Dominican in Brussels, for example,
offers early check-in, complimentary Internet access, free use of gym with
its sauna and hammam, as well as a personal in-room Nespresso machine.

The Demand
Business travellers increasingly prefer hotels with individual character to
anonymous chain hotels. In addition to the requirements of comfort and
convenience, seasoned travellers demand hotels with a strong connection to
the locality and culture – places where they can feel like a “local upon
arrival”. To meet this demand, travel managers and agencies face the
challenge of researching individual and unique hotels, as well as
incorporating them into their hotel programme – often a very time
consuming process.

The Supply
Many members of Design Hotels™ offer special amenities, like
complimentary business breakfasts or wireless LAN, that are appealing to
business travellers. Moreover, they offer individualised service, inspiring
surroundings and a one-of-a-kind experience. As independent hotels
however, they typically do not have the resources for global sales campaigns
and actively approaching travel managers.

The Platform: Business Spaces+


Design Hotels™ developed Business Spaces+ as a multifaceted programme
that serves the interests of both business travellers as well as individual
member hotels. Regular events in major cities worldwide bring together
selected hotels with locally-based business travel agencies/travel managers.
The events provide a forum for one-to-one exchange and pave the way for
future co-operations.

As part of the Business Spaces+ concept, Design Hotels™ is actively


involved in business travel organisations like NBTA, ACTE and VDR.
Furthermore, a quarterly Business Spaces+ newsletter keeps travel
managers and business travel agencies informed of the latest news and
offers. *
Some highlights of the current offerings:

• The Emperor, Beijing: The 46 room hotel is primely located next


to the Forbidden City and offers business travellers its laundering
services as well as a relaxing massage for free. Business centre
access is also included.
• Alila Jakarta: Businesspeople can take advantage of the express
lunch buffet, an automatic flight confirmation service from the
concierge and a reflexology treatment.
• The Dominican, Brussels: With 150 rooms and spacious
meeting facilities, the hotel offers complimentary Internet, sauna
and hammam access, and early check-in to business travellers.
• Hospes group, Spain: All Hospes hotels offer express breakfast
including hand massage, late check-in/out, complimentary Internet
access as well as a special programme to aid sleep.

The Business Spaces+ newsletter is published four times a year and can be
