Product Overview
The PRIMERGY 10GbE Connection Blade 18/8 is an integrated 10Gbit Ethernet switch for PRIMERGY
BX900 Blade Server System.
This product has the Switch Software provides Ethernet switching function as well as the Intelligent
Blade Panel (IBP) software provides a simple Ethernet interface option for connecting the PRIMERGY
BX900 Blade Server Systems to the external network.
The PRIMERGY 10GbE Connection Blade 18/8 provides the following hardware configuration
- 18 internal 10GBASE-KR ports connected to servers through chassis backplane (18 downlink ports)
- 8 external Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+) based ports (8 uplink ports)
- 1 internal console port connected to management blades through chassis backplane
- 1 10/100 BASE-T port connected to management blades through chassis backplane

*1List of sources filtering by EXCLUDE and INCLUDE defined in IGMP v3 membership
report is not supported in IGMPv3
*2) QoS settings using ACLs have no effect on packets to which IP or MAC filter rules apply.
*3) In case of using the authentication with MAC address-based packet admission control,
packets which input to the authentication-enabled port are always flooded when they are
going out from the switch.
*4) If the web authentication with MAC address-based packet admission control is used,
packets which input to a port VLAN for the authentication procedure are also flooded when
they are going out from the switch.
*5) Link aggregation cannot be configured in the port which IEEE802.1x authentication, Web
authentication or MAC address authentication is configured.
