: develops a need to work with sincerity to reap the fruits of labour at a later stage.
CONTENT SUMMARY:
The Sower a poem by Victor Hugo, translated by Toru Dutt glorifies a farmer whose sincerity
with work is commendable.
RESOURCE MATERIAL:
Course book, Source book, Visuals of Farmers in action and their usual plight was used to set
the mood for discussion about Sowers in my power point presentation. The meanings of
difficult words were made clear using pictures.

ENTRY ACTIVITY:
TR: Do you know what the primary profession of us
Indians is?
St: Agriculture, Farming.
Tr: Let me show you some of the usual
advertisement of famous consumer brands.
( teacher presents the slides)
The teacher then asks the following questions:

What do the advertisements focus on?

What is the state of the workers in these


ads?

Do the love working? Are the happy?

The teacher then shows the actual working


conditions of all labourers especially farmers.

To understand the grasping level and to evaluate the effectiveness of ICT the following questions
were asked to the students

Was the power point helpful in drawing the exact life picture of the sower and what he
does?
(Students responded actively to the various queries from the passage without any
mistakes.

FOLLOW UP:
Students are asked to prepare a short report on various measures that can be taken to improve
the working condition of farmers in our country using ICT.
