PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Galleria of Jewelry and Gems Carver, MN 2006 to Present
Owner-Operator
Manage and direct store operations, staff hiring and supervision, as well as marketing and retail sales to clients
throughout Central Minnesota. Maintain a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations
and company goals. Maintain comprehensive and meticulous personnel files, correspondence, and inventories
Established sales goals, managed budgets, and devised sales forecasts to maximize profits.
Interviewed, hired, trained, mentored, coached and evaluated performance of hourly associates.
Liaison with Minnesota Department of Education, worked directly with the Department to ensure that teachers were
properly licensed, as well as requested variances for teachers for hard to fill positions, outside of their licensure area,
i.e. Special Education. Supervised Employee Services Clerical staff and facilitated interviewing, hiring, and training
employees, planning, assigning appraising performance and directing, addressing complaints and resolving them.
Filled approximately 400 positions per year, attended Trade Shows, Job Fair, and on-line recruitment efforts to
source the best possible candidates for positions in the school district.
Initiated a unique staffing strategy, which rotated special teachers throughout the District’s schools for two
years, which resulted in a savings of over $4,000,000.
Represented the Administrative Services Department at School Board and Employment Regulatory Meetings
Served on Search Committees for senior level staffing, interviewed applicants and implemented a new program to
pre-interview scientists’ positions for specific academic health areas. Determined classifications and compensation for
all employees in the Academic Health Center
