Industrial Mineral : Indonesia Bauxite Industrial

Mineral substances that stored deep down below the soil is one of the greatest
potential to gain wealth in a country. Because it can be used to increase country income in
order to give people welfare. But, the fact is some well-blessed country dont have the
capabilities to utilize the mineral beside the geolocial factor that took influence on the
availability of the mineral. One of the reason is the lack of human resources, who can
organize its development from digging process until manufacture process which change the
mineral into economical comodity. Second, there is no supervision from the government itself
about the policy and we should understand on how the system works too. Keep in mind
that mining, oil, and gas are big scale of commodity that take role on people everyday lives
moreover it gives influence on world economic stability, so we cant see them as a small part
that only a government should concern about it, as a citizens we should take attention too.
Indonesia, recognized as the biggest archipelago nation is blessed with many natural
resources on any sector, especially the area of the sea Indonesia has. It is one of the biggest
contributor on national income. Specifically, sea could produce energy commodities like oil,
gas, and mineral. In Indonesia, there is famous mineral industrial which is bauxite. Bauxite is
the main ore of alumunium which consist of alumunium hydroxide and alumunium oxide.
Commonly the forming of bauxite occured in tropic and subtropic area. Bauxite was formed
because the process of eroded stones. The colour of this stone is yellowish-brown and this
stone is fragile and easy to brittle. In worldwide, Indonesia itself include in the 7th position of
bauxite export. But, until now the export activity of bauxite still in the form of raw material,
it hasnt been processed, sterilized, and all of the product are sold to another country. This
matter should be the concern of government, because even the raw material still contains a
beneficial elements inside of the stone.
The resources location of bauxite in Indonesia are at Riau, Kalimantan Barat,
Kalimantan Tengah, and Bangka Belitung. With those resources, Indonesia tend to be the
leading of bauxite production in South East Asia. From year to year, the demand of bauxite
has increased, whether it is domestic or from foreign country. The price of the bauxite is also
increased until 2.5x from the beginning price. It is probably caused by the condition of
International Market, and the construction of alumunium factory which give the facilities to
process raw material, so the demand of bauxite will increase. Currently, Indonesia has had an
excellence in the field of production quantity and quality resources bauxite, but both of these
have not been able to make Indonesia position strong in the bauxite world of market.
Fortunately, Indonesia has been decided to use a law that give limit to the export of raw
mineral. All of this effort will open the probability of increasing added value.The utilization
of bauxite for example, on industrial aspect is for the ingredients of creating a plane, on
everyday life is the making of kitchen utensils and many more.

From the above explanation, we know that Indonesia has the potential to develop its
mining industrial and with the implementation of the obligation, processing, and refining it is
required to have a supervision on mining activities in order for arranging a better atmosphere
on the commodities and gain the beneficial in order to get a hold of people welfare.
