One Acre Fund is a start-up social entrepreneurship initiative in Kenya that works with poor farmers to
empower through education, financing, inputs, and export market access
ƒ Undertook needs assessment by collaborating with 100+ rural farmers, farming subject matter
experts and local tradesmen, to identify and problem solve ways to increase crop yield
ƒ Implemented and made continuous changes to the Farmer Training Guide, a guide that describes
various farming techniques to prevent low crop yields
ƒ Provided training to local One Acre Kenyan staff and 100+ farmers using the Farmer Training Guide
ƒ Negotiated terms and contracts with local vendors for procurement of farming inputs (pulleys, poles,

Program Facilitator – Specialty Mentoring
Pathways to Education is a dynamic non-profit organization based in Regent Park and provides youth with
various tutoring and mentoring supports
ƒ Liaised with 20 staff members to connect 400+ youth to a variety of youth opportunities (volunteer,
employment and training)
ƒ Organized first volunteer fair attended by 11 social service agencies and 150 youth
ƒ Implemented and designed employment training workshops on resume writing, interviewing and job
searching for 100 students
ƒ Established and led a Young Men’s Group with a team of four other staff, expanding program scope

Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment (BRYE), Dorchester, MA February 2005 to September 2005

program for underprivileged children and youth in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood
ƒ Oversaw daily operation of summer program for 90 students including transportation, academics,

acquired $10,000+ in-kind resources
