QUESTIONS
Give descriptions of the tool and pic/symbol of tools.
1. Rectangular Marquee Tool

This tool allows the user to select rectangular shaped areas


within an image. The areas can then be copied or cut and then pasted into
new layers.
The tool also can become a bounding border for "pouring" color with the
Paint Bucket or
Gradient tools. Other marquee tools are available by clicking and holding
the button.

2. Elliptical Marquee Tool


Once you've chosen the Elliptical Marquee Tool, it will appear in place of
the Rectangular Marquee Tool in the Tools panel. To get back to the
Rectangular Marquee Tool, you'll need to click and hold on the Elliptical
Marquee Tool, then select the Rectangular Marquee Tool from the fly-out
menu

3. Lasso Tool
This tool is used to select parts of a layer for editing. There are other
types of lassos available, including a Magnetic Lasso and Polygonal Lasso

Once you've selected the Polygonal Lasso Tool, it will appear in place of
the standard Lasso Tool in the Tools panel. To switch back to the Lasso Tool
later, click and hold on the Polygonal Lasso Tool, then select the Lasso Tool
from the fly-out menu

5. Magnetic Lasso Tool


Once you've selected the Magnetic Lasso Tool, it will appear in place of the
standard Lasso Tool in the Tools panel. To switch back to the Lasso Tool
later, or to select the Polygonal Lasso Tool, click and hold on the Magnetic
Lasso Tool until the fly-out menu reappears, then select either of the other
two lasso tools from the list

6. Magic Lasso Tool


The Magic Wand is used to select portions of an image based on
color. Sections of the same color are selected when the wand it touched on
the desired
color and the mouse if left clicked

7. Crop Tool
The Crop tool is an important tool for making adjustments to the
overall size of an image. Using the Crop tool affects the size of the whole
image, not just
a single layer. This is a powerful tool and must be used carefully.

8. Healing Brush Tool

This is an especially helpful tool that is new starting in Photoshop.


It is used to remove dust marks and scratches from photographs. The

at the same position on the Tool Bar, but is used to repair areas of a
photograph that are

Photoshops Spot Healing Brush tool quickly removes blemishes and other
imperfections in images

The Patch Tool is one of the best tools Photoshop has to offer. It can save
you a ton of time when trying to make some adjustments to your image.
You can use it to remove small or large areas from your photo. You can
also use it to duplicate parts of your photo. As long you you have an area
in your image to sample, using the patch tool should be very easy to do

11.Red Eye Tool


Simply select the Red Eye Tool, then click-drag on the image to draw a box
around the red eye... you may need to click-drag a couple times to get the
entire eye.

12.Clone Stamp Tool


The Clone tool is used to copy portions of a layer from one area to
another. It is similar to the Rubber Stamp tool found in earlier versions of
Photoshop.

13.Background Eraser Tool


the Background Eraser is hiding behind Photoshop's regular Eraser Tool in
the Tools palette. To select it, click and hold your mouse button down on
the Eraser Tool until a small fly-out menu appears, then select the
Background Eraser Tool

14.Magic Erase Tool


you can think of it as a Magic Wand tool but instead of just selecting
similar pixels it deletes them. It's a great tool for quickly removing

backgrounds which are just one colour but for more complicated
backgrounds where there's more than one colour it's not the best tool to
pick.

There are various ways one can change the color of an object. The color
replacement tool offers a simple easy-to-use solution. I began by selecting it
from the Tools panel

16.Blur Tool
The Blur tool is used to selectively blur areas of a layer. The amount

of blur can be controlled. It is especially handy when blending colors or


objects.

17.Sharpen Tool
The Sharpen tool in Photoshop Elements increases the contrast among
adjacent pixels to give the illusion that things are sharper. This tool should
be used with restraint, however. Sharpen can quickly give way to overly
grainy and noisy images if youre not cautious. Use a light hand and keep
the areas you sharpen small.
