The average of results of 12 student was calculated as 40 , , later it was found that two entries were
entered wrong , one 42 instead of 54 and other 74 instead of 50 , , after correction what is new average
of the students ?
Solution:
Sum of marks = 40*12 = 480.
The correct sum comes out after adding 12 and subtracting 24 as stated the difference in entries.
(12-24=-12)
480-12=468
So sum = 468/12
Average = 39

A certain batsman scored at the average of 12 in 5 matches , his average raised to 14 after he played 6th
match , what did he scored in 6th match?
Solution:
Old sum =12*5= 60
New sum = 14*6= 84
So score =84-60= 24
