Hello everyone
First of all, congratulations to Blue Faction for winning the 2015 Faction Athletics Carnival. They
were very strong winning the Senior, Junior and Tabloid Shields. Although I was unable to attend
this year, I have had excellent feedback from staff and families on how well the day went; particularly
the enthusiasm and endeavour of all students to fully participate and do their best for their team.
Friday 13th November Well done, congratulations to our medal recipients and to all who participated. A special mention to
Mr Swann and Mrs Jasper for organising the event and staff for ensuring everything ran smoothly.

On Friday 13 November students will have the day off to attend the Albany Agricultural Show.
This year we will again have a school display however there is a change in location, we will be in the
Centennial Hall (near the tearooms).
Additionally Miss Lace has provided information for students across the school to participate in the
Baking competition. The students in Miss Laces class have made an excellent video explaining how
the competition works; this can be viewed on the school Face Book page. The Baking will be
exhibited in the Bob Sandilands Pavilion with all the other cookery exhibits.
On Friday 13 November the Lockyer Leapers Skipping Squad will be performing. They will be
performing in the Show Performance Tent near the Norman Pavilion commencing at 1.00pm.
Many thanks Mrs Hughes for coordinating and organising the display, Miss Lace for the Baking
Competition, Ms Jones the Lockyer Leapers demonstrations and families for your support, enabling
your children to participate in the planned events.

The work below was produced by two Year 4 students from Room 21. The students
were given a photograph of a mystical forest and were asked to write a descriptive
setting.
I could feel the jagged rocks plunging into my feet and I could see the trees blowing leaves
everywhere. I could hear the trees rustling like something was
stuck. I smelt the horrible smell and the cobwebs were clinging on
to my face. The light was starting to get brighter. In here it was dark
and painfully quiet. I yelled for help but it echoed through the
caves and hollows around me. I was surrounded. The cobwebs
were like tape stuck to my face and the ground held me tightly to
the floor. I was stuck like glue. My eyes were getting blurry like old
plastic lenses were stuck in them. As the moon came out I wondered, what mysteries could be
hidden here?.. By Erin Lambert
The icy ground was littered with cold, sharp stones. It was quieter than a graveyard. Roots crept from
the bases of the trees and hardly any light was allowed in. The roots made the trees look as if they
had legs and I could smell the rotten stink. It was as if the ground was alive with stones and branches.
Then, coming from the base of a very peculiar tree, I saw a small glow.... By Luke D'Aprile
