THE LOVE OF SAHABAS OF SALLAHU ALIHIWASALLAM

The love of the companions of prophet (peace be upon him), to venerate, honor
them, to emulate them, and intake with their ancient monuments is the very
important thing in the ideology of ahlussunna wal jama .

Allahu (swt) said:

‫والذين جائوا من بعدهم يقولون ربنا اغفر لنا وإلخواننا الذين سبقونا با اإليمان وال تجعل في قلوبنا غال‬
‫ الرحيم‬H‫للذين آمنوا ربنا إنك رؤوف‬

10: ‫ آية‬: ‫الحشر‬

And those who came (into the faith) after them say: our lord forgives us and
brothers who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancor
toward those who believe, our lord you artful of pity merciful.

Prophet) peace be upon him( said that;


‫آية االيمان حب األنصار وآية النفاق بغض األنصار‬

The symptom of the faith is to take a fancy to ansar sahabas (companions of


madina), and the symptom of the hypocrisy is to be disgust and hatred to ansar
sahabas
Bukhri 1/12

And Sallalahu alihiwasallm said:

‫ إال منافق من أحبهم أحبه هللا ومن أبغضهم أبغضه هللا‬H‫ال يحبهم إال مؤمن وال يبغضهم‬

None is fond of ansar sahabas except the believer and none dislike them except
the hypocrite, and who is passionately attached with them, Allah has liking for
him and who hates them, Allah has antipathy upon him.

Muslim 1/15

Prophet( Sallalhu alihi wasallam) said:


‫ رجل يؤمن با هللا واليوم اآلخر‬H‫اليبغض االنصار‬

A person who believes in Allah and the last day never nurses a grudge against
the ansar Shabas
Muslim 1/8

Muslim (radiyallahu anhu )reportes:

‫والذي فلق الحبة وبرأ النسمة أنه لعهد النبي االمي صلي هللا عليه وسلم – إلى أن ال يحبني إال مؤمن وال‬
H‫يبغضني إال منافق‬

Zirr bin hubaish( radiyallahu anhu ) reported ; Ali (Radiyallahu anhu) observed ;
by him who split up the seed and created something living the apostle may peace
and blessing of Allah be upon him gave me a promise that no one but a believer
would love me , and none but hypocrite would nurse grudge me.
Muslim

Bukari and Muslim( rahimahumallah) reported that:

‫ أن عمر و بن العاص رضي هللا عنه سأل النبي صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬H‫روي البخاري و مسلم في صحيحهما‬
.‫ فمن الرجال ؟ قال أبوها‬: ‫ قال‬. ‫ عائشة‬: ‫أي الناس أحب إليك يا رسول هللا ؟ قال‬

Amr Ibnul Aas( rdiyallahu anhu) asked the prophet (peace be upon him.)

“Who is the most beloved (from people) to you, ya rasulallah’’? Sallalahu alihi
wasallam said, “Aisha’’ then he asked, “from men” Sallahu alihi wasallam said,
“her father”.

All these narrations indicate that to love sahabas of Sallahu alihiwasallam is


obligatory to all Muslims

Imam Thahawi great scholar of hanfi school (may Allah be pleased with him)
guided us , how the Muslims should love the companions of the Sallalahu
alihiwasallam , neither cross the border by showing more affection to any one of
them, nor deny any of them (like shias do) , he further said that we should never
make reference of them except good. To be affectionate to them is religiousness,
faith, and performance of good deeds, and to be in dislike, and aversion to them
is irreligion, hypocrisy and tyranny.

Sharau thahawiyya: 467

Abu Abdullah Thaha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: we should have a
passion towards all the companions of Sallalahu alihiwasallam according to their
status, that is in the following order: people of badr, people of hudibiyya, people
of treaty under the tree (treaty of rizwan), and people of uhad… they are the
people of eminent degree, and respectable moralities.

Ibana Fe usooli sunnathi wa diyana: 271

Some sahabies were identified by the prophet that they would enter paradise,

H‫ عشرة فى الجنة أبوبكر‬:‫روى الترمذي رحمه هللا عن سعد بن زيد أن رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وسلم قال‬
‫ في الجنة وعبد‬H‫في الجنة و عمر في الجنة وعثمان فى الجنة وعلي فى الجنة وطلحة فى الجنة وزبير‬
‫ بن زيد في الجنة وأبو عبدة الجراح في‬H‫الرحمان بن عوف في الجنة وسعد بن ابي وقاص في الجنة وسعد‬
.‫الجنة‬

Thirmidhi ( rahimahullah) reports from sad bin zaid( radiyllhu anhu )that: the
prophet( sallalahu alihiwasallam) said: ten people would be in the paradise ; Abu
bakr,Umar,Uthman,Ali, Thalha, Zubair,abdurrahamn bin awf, Sad Bin Abi
waqqas, Sad bin zaid, Abu ubaidathul jarrah (radiyallahu anhum)
Thirmidhi 3/34

It doesn’t mean that others who were not identified by the prophet would not
enter in paradise such his wife and other companions would also entitled for
paradise.

Bukari and mslim( rahimahumallah), reported from aysha( radiyallahu anha):

‫ قال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وسلم أريتك فى المنام مرتين إذا رجل‬: ‫عن عائشة رضي هللا عنها قالت‬
‫ إن يكن هذه من عند هللا‬. ‫ فا كشفها فاذا هي أنت فأقول‬, ‫ هذه إمرتك‬: ‫يحملك فى سرقة من حرير فيقول‬
.‫يمضه‬

Narrated aysha ( raliyallahu anha) : Allah’s messenger (sallalhu alihiwasallam)


said that: you were shown to me twice in my dream, behold, a man was carrying
you in a silken piece of cloth and said to me , she is your wife , so uncover her,
and be hold, it was you. I would then say (to my self); if this is from Allah then
it must happen.

It is also a clear proof to understand the status of ayisha radiyallhu anha, that the
prophet sallalahu alihi wasallam had his last breath while lying between her lung
and throat
The ideology of ahlussunna wal jama is that to witness of paradise not only those
who have mentioned , but also all the companions of sallalahu alihi wasallam
would enter paradise whether they were explicitly mentioned by prophet or not
