Handing over of Rotary School Desks to Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission:

Since 2011, Hashoo Foundation (HF) and Rotary Clubs are rigorously contributing to improve
literacy and access to quality education in Pakistan, through distribution of Rotary Books and
educational materials among educational institutions and organizations. This endeavor is in
collaboration with Rotary Books for the World Program, Rotary Club Rawalpindi and
administrative support of Second Wind Foundation USA.
In addition to donation of valuable Rotary Books and educational material, Rotary Books for the
World Program, has also donated school desks this year.

On September 28, 2015, Hashoo Foundation (HF) organized school desks handing over event at
Umeed-e-Noor, Islamabad. In this ceremony, HF management including Director Projects, Col Sadiq,
Sr. Program Officer Education Mr. Shukoor Ullah Baig and Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission
representatives PDG Dr. Pervez Ahsan Khan and PP Masrur J Sheik participated. On this occasion, HF
handed over 45 schools desks to Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission representatives. These desks will
be handy and help the schools with no desks facility for students.

Hashoo Foundation (HF) also extended its support to shift these desks from Islamabad to Karachi. HF
arranged and supported in loading and transportation of the 45 desks by a large road vehicle (truck).

It has been realized that these school desks and the dissemination of the educational material will
both enable HF and Rotary partners to aid literacy efforts in Pakistan. Allocation of these educational
resources will lead to availability of quality education to the under-privileged students who are in
dire need of such resources for their better prospects.
