Ten Little Fingers

I have ten little fingers,
And they all belong to me.
I can make them do things.
Would you like to see?
I can shut them up tight,
Or open them all wide,
Put them together,
Or make them all hide.
I can make them jump high,
I can make them jump low,
I can fold them quietly,
And hold them all just so.
-Anonymous

The Little Turtle

There was a little turtle.
He lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle.
He climbed on the rocks.

He snapped at a mosquito.
He snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a minnow.
And he snapped at me.

He caught the mosquito.

He caught the flea.
He caught the minnow.
But he didn't catch me.

Hands on Shoulders
Hands on shoulders, hands on knees,
Hands behind you, if you please.
Touch your shoulders, now your nose,
Now your hair and now your toes.
Hands up high, in the air,
Down at your sides, then touch your
hair.
Hands up high as before,
Now down again,
Clap to four.

When I was One

When I was one, I was so small.
I could not speak a word at all.
When I was two, I learned to talk.

When I was three, I grew and grew.
Now I am four and so are you!

Five Juicy Apples

Five juicy apples,
Sitting in the store;
_________ate one.
That leaves four.
Four juicy apples,
Pretty as can be;
_________ate one.
That leaves three.
Three juicy apples,
Yummy, through and through;
_________ate one.
That leaves two.
Two juicy apples,
What a handsome pair;
_________ate one.
Now one is sitting there.
One juicy apple,
Sitting all alone;
_________ate it.
That leaves none.
"Grocer, Grocer,
Please order more.
We like to buy apples
When we visit your store."

Hands
Hands up high.
Hands down low.
Hands behind you.
Where'd they go?
Snap your fingers.
Touch your nose.
Now your chin,
And then your toes.
Cup your hands.
Then give a clap
Now hands together;
In your lap.
-Anonymous

Stand Up
Stand up.
Turn around.
Clap to four.
Dont sit down.
Clap once more.
Take a bow.
Stamp your foot.
Stop right now.
Wave your hand
Bend two knees.
Sit back down,
And look at me.
-Anonymous

My Big Balloon
I can make a big balloon.
Watch me while I blow.
Small at first, then bigger,
Watch it grow and grow.
Do you think it's big enough?
Maybe I should stop.
For if I blow much longer,
My balloon will surely pop!

Boom! Bang!
Boom, bang, boom, bang!
Rumpety, lumpety, bump!
Zoom, zam, zoom, zam!
Clippety, clappety, clump!
Rustles and bustles
And swishes and zing;
What wonderful noises
A thunderstorm brings!
-Anonymous

Raindrops
Raindrops, raindrops
Falling all around!
Pitter-patter on the ground.
Here is my umbrella.
It will keep me dry!
When I go walking in the rain,
I hold it up so high.
Pitter-patter, raindrops
Falling from the sky!
Here is my umbrella
To keep me safe and dry!
When the rain is over
And the sun begins to glow,
Little flowers start to bud
And grow and grow and grow!
-Anonymous

Cloud
What's fluffy, white, and floats up high,
Like a pile of cotton in the sky?
And when the wind blows hard and
strong,
What very gently soars along?
What brings the rain?
What brings the snow
That showers down on us below?
When you look up in the high blue sky,
What is that thing you see float by?
-Anonymous

I Measure Myself
I measure myself from my head to
my toes.
I measure my arms, starting right by
my nose.
I measure my legs and I measure me
all.
I measure to see if I'm growing tall.

Five Eggs and Five Eggs

Five eggs and five eggs, that makes
ten.
Sitting on top is a mother hen.
Crackly, crackle, crackle,
What do you see?
Ten yellow chicks, fluffy as can be.

-Vachel Lindsay

The Snowman
I'm a little snowman,
Short and fat.
Here are my mittens.
Here is my hat.
When the sun comes out,
I melt away.
See you next year
On a snowy day.
-Anonymous

My Shadow
I have a little shadow that goes in and out
with me,
And what can be the use of him is more
than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to
the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump
into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he
likes to grow.
Not at all like proper children, which is
always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an
india-rubber ball.
And he sometimes gets so little that there's
none of him at all.

Windshield Wiper
I'm a windshield wiper.
This is how I go.
Back and forth, back and forth,
In the rain and snow.
