THE POSITION:
Tetra Pak has an opening for an experienced Field Service Engineer, within our processing line of business, to fill a rewarding
and challenging role that allows freedom with accountability while working directly with our team of Service Technicians,
Engineers and customers. The role will include long term and short term assignments, and last minute service calls on our
processing equipment and components. This position will report in to the Technical Service Department located in Vernon
Hills, IL.

The Field Service Engineer delivers support to our internal team and customers by providing automation solutions,
programming assistance, training and troubleshooting services on Tetra Pak Processing Equipment in the Food, Dairy, Ice
Cream and Cheese industries. All components within the Tetra Processing systems portfolio required knowledge in
programming variable frequency drives, control valves loops, customer training, system monitoring and production support.
Other components include performing calibration activities such as control loops, working with such company components
supplied by ABB, Allen Bradley, Siemens, E&H, Danfoss, efector controls.

To be successful in the FSE role, one must have an understanding of both application and system functionality.

This position will, at times report to various groups depending on the stage of the installation process. The groups include
Project Management, Customer Service and Service Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Conduct on-site/off site Operator and Mechanical training for internal Tetra Pak and customer personnel

Establish and maintain a continuous positive relationship with customers including support and follow-up on
customers' concerns and problems

Independently document and redline PLC Code, Maintain Issue resolution database

Perform troubleshooting and fault finding services on site and by phone

Install set up and support through remote support when off site

Regular time entry, service reporting and e-mail correspondence via computer

Emergency phone support and on demand service for the 24hr. support line on a rotational basis

Obtain and maintain key certifications on key components and modules

Timely submittal of all travel and expenses for reimbursement with attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy

Key Elements:

Electrical knowledge- Understand electrical drawings and able to sketch an electrical drawing to communicate with
the customer (ex. Draw a circuit with a relay)

Experience with AC/DC electrical circuits

Mechanical Understanding- fluently work with hand tools including wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, torque
wrenches, specialty (machine specific) tools, read and follow manuals and assembly/disassembly instructions

Independent- Able to work independently and with teams using mechanical tools

Automation- Able to upload, download, read, write, Edit PLC 5000 RSLogix, fluently

Computer Knowledge- Microsoft office programs, Outlook (Able to write clearly fluently and create word documents,
spreadsheets, power point, connect to internet remotely)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Documented experience working with PLC, Control Loops, and following established processes and protocols

Experience providing positive customer service through strong technical skills in loading and updating Allen Bradley
software (versions 13-26)

Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and ability to positively influence and support the work of others in a nonreporting relationship

2-5+ years of related technical experience in a related industry

Windows Operating systems knowledge including, Windows XP-Windows 8, Virtual Machine

Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision

Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

Must be willing to travel 80% of the time within the USA and Canada

Physical requirements include travel, Air, car,- bending, lifting, twisting items up to 50-75lbs. Prolonged Standing,
sitting, stooping

Preferred Experience

Bachelors Degree, Technical Degree or Certification in Instrumentation/Electronics/Electrical/Automation


Engineering, or 3 Years Experience as an Automation Technician.

Understand fluently Ethernet networking, field business systems such as Profibus, ASI, Control Net Device Net etc.
Allen Bradley, ABB, Danfoss and or Similar experience working with connecting devices to work simultaneously.

Reading, editing and developing automation software including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, In Touch,
Wonder ware

Understanding maintenance of documentation structure and the current and latest programs with tags

Knowledge in SCADA programming, Rockwell or Siemens systems

Fluid understanding of high and low voltage controls, using CAT III testing meters

Programming variable frequency drives, reading parts manuals, electrical drawings and flow charts

Appropriate industry and technical experience includes beer and breweries, ice cream, paper industry,
pharmaceutical, bakeries, cheese making, candy, food manufactures, plastics, polymers, textiles, mixing, blending

Location: USA

The role requires residency within 60 miles of a major metro airport
