Assignment: 01
Conceive, design and strategize your modern Market System for India that can stabilize Indias economy
with economic growth and social progress for the next five to ten years. Your Model should have the following

It should incorporate the best elements of the Free Enterprise Capitalism of the West and minimize
its weaknesses. [10 marks]
It should include some of the best elements of Command Economies (e.g., Russia, China, North
Korea, and Cuba) and avoid their short-comings. [10 marks]
It should also imbibe the best spirit of the Nordic Model of State Welfare (e.g. Denmark, Norway,
Sweden, and Finland) while avoiding their recent failures. [10 marks]
Lastly, it should learn from the mix-economies that combine free enterprise capitalism with socialism
as practiced in certain countries (e.g., India, Brazil, Modern China, and Poland). [10 marks]
Above all, the model should be a legal, ethical, moral and spiritual system with respect to its mission,
vision, goals and objectives, empowering India with religious harmony, social solidarity, and
economic prosperity for all. That means, your model should progressively eradicate four harmful
outcomes: poverty, fraud, crime and pandemic disease. [10 marks]
Verify its problem-solving capability by running your model through AOL1, AOL2 and AOL3 (25
marks).

Assignment: 02
1.

Take TWO cases among the fifteen provided in Handouts 01-05 that will be randomly assigned to
your group. Update both cases (both under this question) with your findings from past and current
latest developments, and document your sources, and explain the importance, relevance and
currency of these two cases (5 Marks).

2.

Apply Assurance of Learning Model 1 (AOL1) to the two cases what are your major conclusions on
the ethics of inputs that comprise these cases, based on which ethical theories, and why? [For the
structure of AOL1 see Table 1, p. 11 in the Syllabus]. (15 Marks)

Next, apply Assurance of Learning Model 2 (AOL2) to the same two cases what are your major
conclusions on the ethics of processes that constitute these cases, based on which ethical theories, and
why? [For the structure of AOL2 see Table 2, pp. 12 in the Syllabus]. (15 Marks)

4.

Thirdly, apply Assurance of Learning Model 3 (AOL 3) to the same two cases what are your major
conclusions on the ethics of outputs that comprise these two cases, based on which ethical theories,
and why? [For the structure of AOL3 see Table 3, p. 13 in the Syllabus]. (15 Marks)

5.

Fourthly, apply Assurance of Learning Model (AOL4) to the same two cases what are your major
conclusions when applying various concepts and theories of ethical systems to both cases, based on
Exhibits 4.1 to 4.5 in Chapter 04 or Exhibits 5.1 to 5.5 in Chapter 05. [ (15 Marks)

Synthesize your findings from the applications of AOL1 to AOL4 under questions (1) (5). What
additional insights into problems do you derive from AOL1 to AOL4 and why? (10 Marks)

a hard copy to any of them before the beginning of your class that day.

Intergroup plagiarism will be penalized as per XLRI rules.

All groups will be randomly called upon to do a five-seven minutes presentation (including Q&A
from the gallery) in class on Monday, November 2, 2015 (7.5 marks of Class Participation are
attached to this presentation).
