Section 1: The Road to World War I

Glencoe World History Chapter 23, pg 717:

On June 28, 1914 the heir to the ___________________ throne, Archduke __________
_____________, was assassinated in the Bosnian city of Sarajevo. The event was the
immediate cause of World War I, but underlying forces had been moving Europeans
toward war for some time.

The assassination was simply the catalyst (spark which begins an event) that began
World War one. The actual causes that set up the conflict were:
