SIMPLE PRESENT CON VALORE DI FUTURO

Il Simple Present pu essere usato con valore di futuro per esprimere:
orari prestabiliti;
This express train to Genoa leaves at 9.10 a.m.
appuntamenti ufficiali;
The President of the USA meets the Ambassador of Japan at 6.00 p.m.
tomorrow at the Capitol.
ipotetiche di grado zero;
If you go to school, you learn a lot of things.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS CON VALORE DI FUTURO

Il Present Continuous pu essere usato con valore di futuro per indicare:
unazione futura programmata, accompagnato da un complemento di
tempo futuro (tomorrow, tonight, next week/month/year);
Im going to the dentist tomorrow.
N.B. Differenza tra Present Continuous con significato di presente:
Im going the dentist. (Ci sto andando ora)
e Present Continuous con significato di futuro:
Im going to the dentist tomorrow. (Ho preso appuntamento per
domani)
Alcuni verbi non si usano al Present Continuous:
be, believe, belong, cost, exist, forget, hate, have (solo quando significa
possedere, avere), hear, know, like, love, need, own, possess, prefer,
remember, see, smell, sound, think, understand, want.
Se il significato non strettamente letterario, alcuni di questi verbi possono
essere usati al Present Continuous.

TO BE GOING TO (AVERE INTENZIONE DI)

TO BE GOING TO si usa seguito dalla forma base del verbo:
Forma affermativa:
I am going to work

Forma negativa:
Im not going to work

Forma interrogativa:
Am I going to work?

Short answers:
Yes, I am.
No, Im not.

Uso di TO BE GOING TO:

quando si ha intenzione di fare qualcosa in futuro, senza averla
programmata in modo dettagliato;
Ive invited all my friends to a party tomorrow. Im going to make three
cakes.
quando si prevede che qualcosa accadr, basandosi sui fatti, su ci
che i sensi percepiscono;
The sky is dark. Its going to rain.

WILL E SHALL
WILL un verbo modale. Quindi seguito dalla forma base del verbo.
Forma affermativa:
I will work

Forma negativa:
I will not (wont) work

Forma interrogativa:
Will I work?

Short answers:
Yes, I will.
No, I wont.

Uso di WILL:
quando si decide di fare qualcosa adesso, nel momento in cui si parla:
Johns here. Ill get him some coffee.
quando si prevede che qualcosa accadr in base a ci che si pensa:
John will probably pass the exam.
dopo I think, I expect, I hope, I promise, Im sure.
I think John will pass the exam.
per offrirsi di fare qualcosa:
Shall I help you? (Shall molto formale ed ormai in disuso, si usa solo
per le prime persone sing. e pl.)
Ill help you.

FUTURE CONTINUOUS
Il Future Continuous si usa con la costruzione:
WILL + BE + FORMA BASE DEL VERBO + -ING
Forma affermativa:
I will be working
Forma interrogativa:
Will I be working?

Forma negativa:
I will not (wont) be working
Short answers:
Yes, I will.
No, I wont.

Si usa per riferirsi ad azioni in corso di svolgimento in un dato momento del

futuro.
Es.

This time next Monday Ill be sailing to Greece.

E usato con espressioni di tempo come: this time tomorrow, this time next
Friday, this time next week, this time next month, this time next year, ecc
Pu anche essere utilizzato per descrivere eventi che accadranno in ogni
caso.
Es. I wont bother to fix a time to see you, because Ill be calling into the
office anyway several time next week.
Alcuni verbi non si usano al Future Continuous:
