MOTHER MARYS BIRTH DAY CELEBRATION
Our Lady Mat. Hr.Sec. School, Maduravoyal (Madha Group
of Academic Institutions) honored Mother Mary by cutting Birth
Day Cake and celebrated the auspicious occasion in rejoicing on
September 8th 2015 in the open auditorium.
Mrs.Karpagam - Principal lighted the mother Lamp and presided
over the celebration. In her presidential address she quoted the
major virtues of the divine holy Mother as profound humility, lively
faith, Blind obedience, and Continual Mental prayer, Angelic
Sweetness, Divine Wisdom and Heroic Patience. All the teachers
lit the candles on the eye catching rangoli and students sang
hymns in praise of Mother Mary. The atmosphere vibrated spiritually
by the blessings of Holy Mother. Sweets were distributed to the
students at the closure.
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION.
Teachers day celebration was well organized by XI & XII
students in the Open Auditorium. V.Akshaya (XII) hosted the program.
Mrs.Karpagam Principal was felicitated by XII. The adorable qualities of her were highlighted by the students enacted a
days experience in their class room by imitating their teachers which
added exuberance among the onlookers.
Various game shows were conducted for the teachers and the
winners received gifts. The celebration was a portrayal of the

Age no bar for organ donation

When it comes to organ donation, age is no bar. There
have been instances of people aged over 70 years who have
donated organs. As of July 31, 3722 organs had been harvested, including skin, corneas, heart valves and blood vessels.
Organs such as kidney, corneas, heart, lung, valves,
lever and skin are harvested for every sick patients. Though
organs are given to those in a similar age group, doctors
say it all depends on how well they are preserved.
Organs from older persons are given to older patients.
We give it to older patients as after the transplant their life
is extended by 10 years says Sunil Shroff, urologist and
managing trustee of Mohan foundation.
The oldest organ donor in India was an 88 year old
man, he recalls, chairman of Sir Ganga Ram hospital, the
organs were donated in 2012. His liver was transplanted
to a 35 year old person. Three years later, all those who
received his organs are doing fine, says surgical
gasteroenterologist S.Surendran, who performed the first
liver transplant in the government in Stanley Hospital. Six
months a ago, an 80 year old persons liver was transplanted
to a 55 year old patient at MIOT Hospital, he adds.
Plastic surgeon G.Balakrishnan, who established the first
sjin bank in the State, says rigid protocals are observed while
harvesting skin. While internal organs are harvested from
brain-dead patients, in the case of carneas and skin, harvesting is done after death. As with corneas, skin can be
harvested from any dead persons within six hours of death.

TNOU to offer 19 skill-based courses

The Tamil Nadu Open University has added 19 skill-based
diploma and certificate courses from the current academic year.
These include courses in the health sector, computer
application,fashion design, catering , plumbing and home appliances repair and services. TNOU Vice Chancellor Chandrakantha
Jeyabalan said the university had decided to provide skill-based
programme in collaboration with the National Skill Development
council (NSDC).
"We are not experts in the subjects, but we have aligned with
the NSDC to prepare the curriculum. We will be offering 18 courses
from the current year", she said.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP

Free Medical camp organized for the Poor and Old people, on
13th September 2015 at Shoba Kalyana Mandapam, Arunachalam
Road, Saligramam.
Ms. Dr Sooriyakala Sreekumar, Medical Director, Sooriya
Hospital, inaugurated the Medical Camp addressed all the Volunteers
/ Patients and Doctors.
Doctors supported during the camp are Dr. Annadurai; Dr.Ms
Kala, Dr. A. Arul Pradeep Dental; Opthal - A K Vasu; Physio - Mrs
and Mr Thiagarajan; Mrs Ambika General Manager of of Sooriya
Hospital came along with 6 para medical staff and did the Height /
Weight / BP / Blood / BMI check for all the required patients
260 public people have been screened on all the above streams
and guided properly. Free medicines have been distributed and the
same was provided by Mr. Ramaswamy of Mint Pharma free of cost.
S. Ethirajan, Coordinator - Sri Kalki Manava Seva Samithi, Nemam
has welcomed and briefed about Sri Kalki Bhagavan / Dharma,
Mahavakyas , Details on Sri Kalki Manava Seva Samithi.
Sri Kalki Vishwa Vidyala; will be conducting a free camp to be
held on 24 th and 25 th Sept 2015 at Shanthi Mahal Thirumana
Mandapam, 136, Mount Poonamallee Main Road, Kattupakkam and
its take aways for leading better life etc. Finally Mr T S
Krishnamoorthy gave vote of thanks.
