ABSTRACT
Materials and Methods: prevalence transversal analytic study. 865 valid cases
were identified. Documental analysis of medical and epidemiological registries
and patients expedients were used with the application of a pre-validated
formulary. Variable prevalence, OR, CI95% and p value were determined by
the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software.

Las mujeres tienen una mayor prevalencia de IHQ (15,9%) que los
hombres (13,8%), estos datos no son estadsticamente significativos, p es
mayor a 0,05

Uso de profilaxis antibitica e IHQ: existe una diferencia entre los casos
investigados que se sometieron a profilaxis antibitica con los no sometidos a
profilaxis (15,77% y 12,64% de prevalencia IHQ respectivamente) pero esta
correlacin no es significativa al tener p=0,196; y al tener lmites del IC95%
entre 0,875 y 1,914 la razn de prevalencia se torna irrelevante.

prevalencia para desarrollar IHQ (66.7%), con respecto a los que presentan
normoglicemia (13.8%), la hiperglicemia postoperatoria es un factor de riesgo
para el desarrollo de IHQ (p = 0,009) con una relacin de 12.4 a 1 y un IC95%
de 1,121 a 138,5.

Duracin mayor a una hora: las cirugas que duraron ms de una hora
presentaron mayor prevalencia de IHQ (16.96%) al compararlo con las que
duraron menos de una hora (13.83%)
estadsticamente no significativo.

contrario de los que duraron menos (5,45%), siendo esta diferencia significativa
(p = 0,004). Se lo considera como un factor de riesgo de IHQ con una relacin
de 3.2 a 1 y un IC95% de 1.392 a 7.557.

6. DISCUSIN
Edad: la mayor prevalencia de IHQ fue desde los 60 aos en adelante sin
ser estadsticamente significativo. En comparacin con la bibliografa
recopilada que indica que la edad tanto en aos(16) como en dcadas(15) es
factor de riesgo en IHQ, pero esto en cualquier tipo de herida quirrgica, mas
no especficamente en la reparacin herniaria, pero en un medio ms cercano
como lo es el chileno se descarta la edad como factor de riesgo pero para
morbilidad postoperatoria en general, entre ellas la IHQ;(5) por lo tanto,
suponemos que probablemente la reparacin herniaria al ser un tipo de ciruga
limpia o como mucho limpia-contaminada, que normalmente tiene una estada
hospitalaria menor al resto de cirugas puede no ser un factor de riesgo de IHQ
en las reparaciones herniarias.

con la ciruga cardaca que nos indica que la hiperglicemia postquirrgica tiene
2,02 a 1 veces de desarrollar IHQ(40) y en la ciruga ortopdica espinal que nos
demuestra que la hiperglicemia prequirrgica es un factor de riesgo para el
desarrollo de IHQ.(41) Con lo que nuestra investigacin corrobora estos datos
pero en reparacin herniaria.
