Keeping animals in captivity is cruel. There should not be the zoos in 21st century.
Do you agree or disagree?
My suggested answer:
It is an indisputable fact that zoos play a major role in the maintenance of biodiversity.
However, a few people of todays society say that keeping animals in wildlife parks is
cruel. In my opinion, animals, especially those on the verge of extinction should be
taken captive in zoos.
First, Zoology gardens are the best place which can provide animals with sufficient
protection by supplying them food and giving them essential medical treatment.
Obviously, more and more people hunt or kill animals for fur, skin or other parts.
Therefore, the number of rare animals is diminishing so rapidly that they are in danger
of becoming extinct. In zoos, some breeding programs have successfully protected
some endangered species from extinction. In fact, it is widely known that the captive
programs in China have contributed greatly to the recovery of panda population in the
world.
Second, zoos are the valuable sources of education, especially for children. Children
always crave for knowing about wildlife. Thanks to the zoos, children can make factual
observations and enrich their knowledge about wildlife only seen in textbooks or on
television. Children can develop their awareness of the importance of natural
environment after embarking on eco-tours in zoology gardens.
Opponents of this view condemn that keeping animals in captivity is cruel. They refute
that animals also need freedom to enjoy life like humans. In additions, many animals
are confined in narrow cages with adverse living conditions, thus suffering from
malnutrition and other physical problems. However, as stated previously, wildlife
parks play a vital role in protecting rare animals from extinction; hence, the government
in all countries spare no efforts and money to modernize their facilities.
In conclusion, different individuals tend to look at this issue from various perspectives.
However, the idea that zoos should be sustained in the 21st century is likely to be
concurred with to cater for the needs of animal protection and education, for the sake
of the present and subsequent generations. 327 words

Water resources around the world are falling deficient. Analyze the possible reasons
and provide your suggestions?
My suggested answer:
Having access to water is an indispensable demand of every living creature on the
planet. Despite the fact that approximately two thirds of the earth surface is covered
with water, numerous countries in the world are confronted with the serious threat of
water scarcity. This emergence is associated with several causes and assertive remedies
to combat this thorny problem should be conducted as soon as possible.
To begin with, a water crisis can be attributable to insufficient public awareness. Firstly,
the ready availability of water has created a common misconception for the public that
water is an infinite resource, which makes people take having a supply of clean water
for granted. Moreover, the fact that people consider water as a cheap commodity can
result in the unbridled consumption and accelerate the acute shortage of this resource.
Human-induced pollution can be another trigger for / to the deficiency in drinkable
water. It is abundantly evident that noxious pollutants discharged from factories such
as metals, organic toxins, oils and solids have led to a serious deterioration in aquatic
ecosystems. In addition, poisonous by-products of industrialization can be regarded as
the root of floods which ruin reservoirs, dams and channels.
The increasing escalation in population can be also a justification for the exhaustion of
this valuable resource. It depletes water resources because water is utilized to fulfill
fundamental demands of people such as hygiene and drinking. Additionally, to facilitate
large-scale irrigation and manufacture also requires an abundant supply of water.
As indicated above, water deficiency is inextricably correlated with inappropriate
usage, the rapid acceleration in the growth of population and pollution. To alleviate
aforementioned problems, countries with overpopulation should launch a nationwide
family planning movement. Furthermore, new technologies can be applied to put a curb
on the high level of environmental contamination and make used water recyclable. Last
but not least, public awareness of reserving water resources should be greatly
heightened.
