Talk about my laptop
Id like to tell you about my laptop which has helped me a lot in my studies
and business. Its a Sony, black, 14 inches laptop. Its very important for me not
only for my works but also my relaxation. Everyday I use it to connect the
internet, to chat with my friends, to send and receive business emails, etc. There
are so many things to do with it all day. At the weekend my laptop is used to
play Age of Empires game all night with my game group. My life seems to
connect closely with my laptop. I cant imagine my life without it.

The thing that helps me a lot in my studies is my LAPTOP.
It is shaped like a notebook. It's black and light. It's made in China. It's a
TOSIBA.
It has a screen, a keyboard, a mouse and some ports for peripherals.
I use it to connect to the Internet to share data and information, to read
books, to write papers and essays, to prepare power points for my lectures.
I also use it for entertainment such as watching movies, listening to music,
playing games, sending emails.
I use it every day at home and at work.
It's a wonderful thing. If I couldn't use my laptop, my studies would be more
difficult. I would waste me a lot of time traveling, searching information,
correcting my documents. That is I could save a lot of time and energy with my
laptop.
2- Describe an electronic gadget you like to use:
At the moment my favourite gadget is my Nokia C3 phone. I use my phone
for everything. It acts like a USB so I can put files on it like Words, Excels, and
Power Points. I can download MP3s, video clips, the weather and even trailers
for films. I can also find the nearest caf with its GPS function or get road
directions. I can get online through a fast Wi-Fi connection, stay in touch with
my friends, and share whats new through social networks. I think a
multifunction phone like my phone will be popular in the future.

2. Describe an electronic gadget you like to use

The electronic gadget I most like to use is my mobile phone.
It is shaped like a small, thin box. It has a tiny screen, a keyboard with
number, letters and symbols and function buttons.
I always have it with me and use it whenever and wherever I need.
I like it because it is a multifunctional device for communication and
entertainment.
I use it to contact with people. It functions as a small computer and camera. I
used it to connect the Internet, take photos and record voice. More over, it's not
very expensive.
I think the modern integrated, electronic gadgets like Iphone or Ipad will be
popular in the future.
3. Describe a subject you really enjoy studying.
I learnt many subjects at school, but the one I enjoy learning is History.
History helps us know what people did and how they lived ages ago. It also tells
us how men had to manage to make their lives better and better.
Many learners do not like to read History. They do not understand that if we
know nothing about the past, we cannot have a good knowledge of the present.
In fact, only the study of History will make us realize what we do today is the
result of what our ancestors did in the past. History therefore is a long story of
mans struggle through the ages. As we read the story, we are learning many
interesting things.
I enjoy learning history. I have a large number of history books in my house.
4 Talk about an activity you have done to keep fit or healthy, eg. some
kind of physical exercise, a diet, stopping smoking, etc.

There are many way to keeping fit. First of all, doing exercise regularly can
help to stay young and healthy longer. Secondly, your diet plays an important
role. In order to have a good health, you should eat more fruit and vegetables but
less fattening or fast food. Finally, your work rgime and life-style are also
factors which affect your health. You should work and relax properly, dont
work too hard, dont play too much. Relaxation improves your health physically
and mentally.

4. Talk about an activity you have done to keep fit or healthy.

I started going on a diet 2 years ago.
I began cutting down on meet, beer, alcohol, coffee and tea.
I have eaten more vegetables, fruit, fish and tofu.
I drink a lot of water and fruit juice, about 2 litres a day.
I stopped smoking and took up swimming.
I don't eat snack and choose healthy food.
I feel much better after 2 years. I don't feel headache or tired any more. I
haven't seen the doctors since then.
5- - Describe your favourite TV programme.
As a senior high school student, I am very busy with my studies. Although I
am very fond of watching television, I can only spend an hour after dinner on
my hobby. Of all the TV programs, I like the news and documentaries best.
The news programs shown on all TV channels at 7:00 p.m. help me to know
almost everything about different places in our country and important events
happening all over the world. Through these programs, I can also know about
the main national and international sporting events.
The documentary programs at weekends are my favorites. By watching them,
I can learn a great deal about human civilizations, the wonders of nature and the
amazing inventions and discoveries of great people in the world.
Watching television is my hobby. I cannot imagine a day in my life without
watching it.
5. Describe your favourite TV programme.
One of my favourite TV programs is the QUIZ SHOWS on VTV3. This is
an entertainment program but it's informative and educational.
It is a competition in which people have to answer a lot of question related
to their knowledge and experience and the winner get a lot of money.
I watch the quiz shows at weekends, I like it because it's interesting, use ful
and relaxing and sometimes it's full surprires
I can improve my knowledge by whatching it.
I think the news, the sports and quiz shows are popular in VN now.

6 - Describe a teacher you really admire:

When I was in high school, my favorite teacher is Mrs Huong, a maths
teacher.
Mrs Huong has short curly hair and wears thick glasses, which makes her
look stern. However, she is actually very approachable and is always ready to
lend an ear to our problems. She is motherly and cares very much for us.
I used to dislike maths when I was younger because I found it far too
complicated. Mrs Huong always makes maths lessons interesting and easy to
understand. She is very patient in explaining maths problems to us and always
makes sure everyone understands. Under her guidance, my maths has improved
by leaps and bounds.
I have grown to love maths and I always score high marks in my maths tests
now. It is all because of my favorite teacher.
6. Describe a teacher you really admire
The teacher I really admire is my teacher of Maths. Her name is Tam.
I like her because she is helpful, considerate and responsible. She is always
there when I need her. She has every effective method of teaching which helps
to increase our studying interest.
She has been our teacher when I was at high school.
We have her classes three days a week. She is very patient in explaining
maths problems to us and always makes sure everyone understands. Under her
guidance, my maths has improved by leaps and bounds.
7 - Describe your best friend
To me, one of my best friends is Nam. Nam is only over eighteen but he is
well developed; so he is thought to be twenty or more. He has black hair, a
broad forehead, a straight nose and bright eyes. He is very good-looking. He has
a kind heart and is easy to get on with everybody. We have been friends for a
very long time. We are the best pupils in our class. Nam is always at the top. He
is good at every subject, but he never shows pride in his abilities and always
tries to learn harder.
He is always ready to help his weak friends in their study; as a result, lots of
friends, thanks to his whole-hearted help, have become good ones.
In my relation with Nam, I have got precious experience: thirst for learning,
patience to overcome difficulties, helpfulness and filial piety.
7. Your best friend
My best friend is TUAN. He is 33 year old. He lives in a flat in Hanoi. He is
a teacher. He works at high school.
We have known each other since we studied at high school.
What I like best about my friend is he has a kind face. He always lends me
money whenever I need. He is willing to help me when I am in need. When you
meet him, the first thing you notice is his lovely warm smile.

I consider his my best friend because he is incredibly considerate and
responsible.
We both like playing football and usually play together .
8- Describe a memorable event in your life:
We all have memorable days and experiences. It may be good or bad, happy
or sad, or simply because we are with our special someone. I also have one but it
sure is a happy one and this is what I am about to share to you.
It all started last December, I never knew that meeting this person would
change my life. From the moment I met her, she changed my whole world. I
never thought that I would meet an angel like her; a girl who is very different in
personality from me. Loving her changed my life because I have found out more
characteristics in me that I never knew I had. I get influenced by her smile
especially when I see the excitement in her eyes. She is my wife.
8. Describe a memorable event in your life
A memorable event in my life is that I first met my wife now.
That event took place in March 2008.
In the home of my colleagues, I met her.
From the moment I met her, she changed my world.
I never thought I would see her as an angel, a girl that is very different in my
character.
Her love changed my life because I have found many more features that I
never knew I had. I get affected by her smile, especially when I see the
excitement in her eyes.

According to our traditional custom, Tet holiday is the Lunar New Year
Holiday the most important holiday in Vietnam. It is around late January or
early February, depends on each year. We celebrate three days beginning of the
new year, the first day of new year marks the beginning of Tet.
Although there are three days which are the main days of Tet but we usually
start to prepare much time before. There are many things to do such as clean and
redecorate our houses, try to pay all our debts or everything we borrowed before
the Tet, buy new clothes and presents for our relatives...
On this special occasion, everybody wants to return to their families, to
where they grew up. The people, who are married, manage to take their families
to visit or stay with their parents. There is a funny thing that people try not to

sweep their house during Tet, because they believe that sweeping means put the
good luck away.
We spend time on visiting our relatives, friends, colleagues and go to pagodas
or temples to pray health, happiness ans success for our families.
People usually say the First Day is Fathers Tet, the Second Day is Mothers
Tet and the Third Day is Teachers Tet. Tet is time to hold get-together parties.

my wife, Chinh. Our favourite restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant in Giang Vo
Street. It is not very big but it is always busy. There are only a few tables in the
restaurant and there is a white tablecloth on each table. There is also a vase with
lovely flowers on each table. There are plants in the corners. We usually order
hot curries and eat them with rice. The food is delicious so we enjoy it very
much. The service is quick and friendly. We always have a pleasant evening at
our favorite restaurant.
