STEWARDSHIP AND EVERY MEMBER CANVAS
By now you will have received your stewardship letter with your pledge card. A goal for pledging is the tithe.
Financial commitment is an important way to demonstrate your Christian faith. We hope you will consider
your pledge seriously and give generously.
The ingathering will be at the 9AM service on November 1, when we celebrate All Saints Day.
This is a time to think of your financial commitment to the church and decide on what you are able to pledge
in the coming year. Part of the pledge money goes for the upkeep of the physical building we worship in. This
allows us to express respect for and devotion to God by having a suitable place to worship, but also enables us
to use the building for outreach. St. Dunstans hosts Everybody Eats. Alcoholics Anonymous, and a number of
other community organizations. It has also, in the past, offered its building for use to organizations that were
temporarily in need of a home - - Friends in Action for a period, and at one time, a Special Education class
when space for these students was not available elsewhere.
Message from the staff:
If you leave a prayer card, flower offering, or other information on the desk of a staff member (Mother
Johanna or Ann Blood), kindly put your name (printed) on the info. Many thanks! Mother Johanna and Ann
NECROLOGY
Remember to put the name of your loved ones whom you wish to be remembered on All Saints Day on the
Necrology List by October 25.
Roll Film!
Autumn is here and with cooler weather on the way, our church community will be once again be offering film
nights throughout the cold weather season. We will be using the Lottie Horn room which is equipped with
the new TV church members purchased. If you have an idea for a movie that would be inspiring and/or
entertaining, please let Mother Johanna, Tracy or Leslie know.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
As requested, Prayer Request Cards are now on hooks in the pews, as well as on the table at the back of the
nave.

ALTAR FLOWERS:
Have a special event, birthday, anniversary or graduation you wish to mark? The Altar Flower sign-up sheet
is located on the table in the Narthex. A new sign-up sheet was added for August through October.
COFFEE HOUR SIGN UP:
A Coffee Hour sign-up sheet is available on the ECW bulletin board for October-December services. Anyone
is welcome to host or co-host a coffee hour and the items offered to supplement coffee and juice can be as
simple or fancy as the host/hostess would like. It is always fun to buddy up and have someone host with you.
Please sign up if you are interested and ask Tracy, Leslie or Muffet for more information if needed.
IN OUR COMMUNITY:
A note from Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry:
Thank you all for supplying us with so many egg cartons. We are currently well supplied so please hold off
for now. We can still use plastic bags for distributing produce and frozen items.
With the sudden dip in temperatures we would like to ask for contributions of warm winter hats for adults
and children. These could be hand knit or new, purchased hats and may be left at the pantry any Monday,
Wednesday or Friday morning until 11 AM. A full tummy and a cozy warm hat can do so much for one's
sense of well being as we face the colder months. Thanks for your help.
Volunteer Opportunity - Apple Picking with Healthy Acadia - Mon. Oct. 26
There is an annual apple gleaning you can volunteer for on Monday, October 26 from 8 AM - 3 PM at
Johnston's Apple Orchard in North Ellsworth. Volunteers are needed to help harvest apples for distribution to
food pantries and community meal sites throughout the region. Groups and individuals are welcome,
morning and afternoon shifts are available. Rain date is October 27. RSVP to hannah@healthyacadia.org.
Opportunity to Help Next Step
We are continuing to collect toiletries and personal care items for The Next Step, our community's domestic
violence center. We need a person from the parish to deliver these items when our collection basket is full at
the back of the church. If you are interested, please let Tracy Shaffer know.

Remember to wear your nametags each Sunday!
