AME 436 Energy and Propulsion (3.0 units) (Ronney) (required for AE; may be used as a Core Elective for ME)

Performance and analysis of reciprocating, jet, rocket engines, and hybrid systems. Characteristics of inlets,
compressors, combustors, turbines, nozzles and engine systems. Energy and environmental problems.
Prerequisite: AME 310 and 1 from (CE 309 or AME 309)
AME 451 Linear Control Systems I (3.0 units) (Perez-Arancibia) (required for AE; may only be used as a Core
Elective for ME students AND if AME 420 was completed)

Transform methods, block diagrams; transfer functions; stability; root-locus and frequency domain analysis and
design; State space and multiple systems. Prerequisites: AME 302 and MATH 245. (Duplicates credit in EE 482)
AME 460 Aerodynamic Theory (3.0 units) (Redekopp)

Basic relations describing the inviscid flow field about bodies and wings moving at subsonic and supersonic
speeds. Prerequisite: AME 309

AME 499 Introduction to Computational Methods Programming with Wolfram Mathematica (3.0 units)
(Abramova)

Introduction to computational methods in engineering: learning to develop and implement numerical algorithms
for solving a range of mathematics, physics, and engineering problems. This course is suitable for undergraduate
students in aerospace, bio, civil and mechanical engineering.

Biomedical engineering and technology applied to oral health professions. Dental biomaterials, CAD-CAM,
digital dental technology and tissue engineering applications to craniofacial diseases, disorders, and
enhancements. Recommended preparation: junior standing. Crosslist: This course is offered by the DENT
department but may qualify for major credit in BME. To register, enroll in DENT 412.

Intensive introduction to programming principles, discrete mathematics for computing, software design and
