city is older than that.

2. Woman: So, I heard that you spend all day

just saying hello to visitors.
Man:

Thats right. Are you jealous?

Woman: No, I just wonder why you get all

the easy jobs.
3. Woman: The 2012 movie Dark Shadows
is based on an old US TV show
from the late 1960s. The main
character is a vampire named
Barnabas Collins, who is played
in the movie by the actor Johnny
Depp. On TV, the Barnabas
Collins character was played by a
Canadian actor, Jonathan Frid.
4. Man:

How much coffee have you had

today?

Woman: Some, but not much. How many

cups have you had?

None, but Ill take a coffee break

soon.

6. Man:

No matter where you travel, be

aware that criminals often try to
trick tourists. Take, for example,
the ticket trick. A traveler goes
to a bus station to buy a ticket
to another city. While they stand
in line, somebody comes up and
offers to sell them a ticket at a
special lower price. The tourist
buys the ticket, thinking they got
a great deal, but then gets an
unpleasant surprise. As they try
to board the bus, they find out
that the ticket is a fake.

10. Man:

I lived in Santiago a few years

ago, but I then I moved to Puerto
Montt.

Woman: Thats strange. I met a guy who

says he was your neighbor in
Santiago.
Man:

Hmmm. I dont know who you

mean. Do you remember his
name?

7. Woman: I dont usually do this, but I got

up and left the movie I went
to see last night, right in the
middle.
Man:

Was it really that bad? Why not

just sit there until the end?

Woman: All of the jokes were dirty and

offensive. I cant stand crude
humor like that.
8. Man:

Have you ever seen a

professional soccer game?

Woman: Soccer? You mean football?

Everyone I know calls it
football.

Okay. Most of the world calls it

9. Woman: Sending things by express mail

is different from using normal
mail. Youll have to fill out a form
saying whats in the package
and youll have to estimate its
value. You also need to give
the receivers phone number in
case the courier cant deliver
the package and they need to
contact the receiver. Of course,
the main advantage is that
its faster, but its also more
expensive than normal mail.
