ABSTRACT
This dissertation is an attempt to analyze the effectiveness of diplomatic immunity
and privileges in Bangladesh and other countries have confirmed by the Vienna
Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961. The laws relating to the diplomatic
immunity which award the absolute immunity to the diplomats in cases of penal
crimes, has been one of the most debatable topic in the areas of international law.
This dissertation firstly seeks to precisely chart out notions of diplomatic
immunity. In the second half, the dissertation identify the effectiveness of
diplomatic immunities and privileges. Finally, an attempt is made to arrive at a
problem-solving mechanism.
