The Data Service Unit is called DLU in the various sections because the term DLU
continues to be used in the fault reports and diagnostic results.

References to Additional Information

If you are familiar with the basic principle of the fault clearance you can start with
fault clearance at once. Otherwise we advise that you read the appropriate register
in Documentation Overview in order to be able to use the manual effectively for fault
clearance purposes. The Documentation Overview contains detailed information on
all general aspects of fault clearance.

When replacing or handling modules please observe the Safety Instructions for
personal and products (EN60950/IEC60950).

A description of DSU hardware and associated structure and function can be found
in following information: Data Service Unit

IMPORTANT NOTES

A module of the old module type (e.g. IWEA) consists of modules IWEx, IWESx and

Emergency Connection due to Room temperature

If the air conditioning system fails, the room temperature can rise so high that equipment
malfunctions are possible.
This is prevented by the following measures:

warning air conditioning failed if the permissible temperature is exceeded.

disconnection of the current converters (DCC) in the DLU module frames via a thermostat before the critical temperature is reached.

In each DLU rack there is a thermostat which operates when the critical room temperature is reached. When this temperature t is exceeded, ground potential is applied via the
thermostat to the control inputs of the individual DCCs of the module frame (except for
the DCC in Shelf 0) so that they can be disconnected.
When the temperature drops, the DCCs are switched on again. The DLU can be
switched on again individually via the configuration command or automatically by a
system recovery.
