Faculty Student Interaction

PROBLEM SUMMARY
This Faculty Student Communication Project helps the student to post their queries
directly to the concerned Faculties. This project will enable educational institutes to
narrow down the communication gap between the students and faculties.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
This Faculty Student Communication Project helps the student to post their queries
directly to the concerned Faculties. This project will enable educational institutes to
narrow down the communication gap between the students and faculties and
improve the environment of the any educational institute. Thus increase the level of
performance of both students as well as faculties.
The project allows faculties to create their own responses and answer the queries
posted by student at free time from any place. It allows the faculties to answer the
queries in more proper way and in free and tension free environment. It would
enable educational institutes to create feedback forms. It asks students to create
his/her set of questions and send it to the faculty. Faculty then reads the questions
and puts them into groups based on the subject or semester with answers. Further
the questions are associated with specific groups so that not only associated
students but any student related to that subject or semester can read the question
and answers. The result of the response would be available to the faculty of the
question set and related student.
This System is aimed at computerizing the activities involved in communication
between the students and faculties. The primary activities include posting the
question and generating the answers and also generating the reports.
This project includes the following

Modules:
1. Administrator module
This module deals with the adding the Questions, maintaining student list,
faculty list and user-id and password generation for students and faculties, Report
generation, User blocking and Unblocking. Administrator can generate the report of
the particular user.

2. Student Module
This module deals with the student logging into the system and posting the
questions which may be related to some particular subject or may be on some
personal observation. The student can login into the system with the user-id given to
him by the administrator to post the questions. He is able to move back to the
previous question and check their answers provided by the faculty.
3. Faculty Module
This module deals with the faculty logging into the system and reading the
questions posted and finally answering them to best of their abilities. He/She can
view the questions posted for them only.
PURPOSE:

Responses by the faculties will be checked automatically and instantly.

This will reduce the time and fear of students from communicating with
faculties.

Being an integrated Online System it will reduce paper work.

Can generate various reports almost instantly when and where required.

Existing System
The existing system is manual entry of keeping of the details of the students
and faculties who are registered already.
Students are afraid of the faculties and find it difficult to come to the faculty
and express their thoughts or doubts.
It is very difficult for the students from far distance to reach faculty
immediately.
This system is required to prepare registration form and application form for
the questions manually.
It is difficult to calculate how many students have registered and how many
have posted the questions and verification of details of these students is very
difficult. This is can be done at the end of the month.
This requires quite a lot of time and wastage of money as it requires quite lot
of manpower to do that.

Another factor that takes into account that is the possibility of errors and
which requires verification and checking of data relating to various operations,
departments, subjects, faculties which is done manually.
The limitation of existing system is that it is not all personalized. Even the
other faculty members can make quick entries if the responsible person is not
present.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
PROPOSED SYSTEM
The modern computerized system is developed with the aim to overcome the
drawbacks of existing system. The proposed system has got many advantages.
Student from different parts of the world can register very easily.
Student from different parts of the world can post their question very easily.
Faculty does not feel offended in front of others, if he/she has no solution the
answer of the student.
Shy students and who fear of asking to faculties can easily post their
questions online.
Faculty is not able to scold the students.
Faculty gets enough time to answer the question.
The new system is more personalized.
It is organized in such a manner that all the new users can understand all the
options in it very easily. It is made in a quick and easy referential manner.
Access to all important matters are not always locked and can be opened
easily at the time of urgency.
The advantages of proposed system are that security is maintained in the
new system. Securities for all important data are maintained confidentially.
As it is easily understandable and user friendly, quick entries can be made in
this system.
