SUMMARY

I am an energetic, self-motivated individual with experience in environmental management and a passion for
conservation and animal welfare. My goal is to use my skills to drive progress toward a more environmentally
conscious world. I have a sound knowledge of both international and Canadian environmental policy as well as a
functional understanding of processes and systems for delivering strong business practices. I am a strong
communicator and experienced in working with multiple levels of business and management.

Atlantic Towing, a division of J.D. Irving, Limited, provides customized marine transportation solutions to high-profile
companies in a variety of industries. Its primary operations include: Barge Charter; Cargo Shipping; Harbour and
Coastal Towage, and Offshore Support Services to major Oil and Gas companies in Canada and abroad. I currently work
as the Environmental Coordinator responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective program for environmental
management for both marine and land based operations. My responsibilities include:

Building and maintaining the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.


Managing all environmental plans, programs and initiatives (Waste Management, Energy Efficiency, Wildlife
Protection and Emergency Response).
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with current international, federal and local policies and regulations.
Oversight of Risk Management through environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and incident investigation.
Developing measures to address the companys Significant Environmental Aspects (marine pollution prevention,
Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, fuel and energy consumption, invasive species and air emissions).
Reviewing documents on current and emerging issues and providing technical and strategic advice.
Tracking and analysing data on fuel consumption, engine hours and emissions; calculating vessel fuel and energy
efficiency and production of harmful air emissions (NOx, SOx, PM, GHGs).
Reviewing and measuring environmental performance against performance criteria and best practices.
Measuring and developing environmental performance metrics (sustainability index, KPIs) as well as reviewing best
practices.
Assisting in internal and external auditing.
Liaising with subject matter experts and consultants on Green tools and technologies.

Accomplishments:

Established processes to monitor the companys Environmental Performance and assess subsequent objectives and
actions.
Created a legal register for monitoring and maintaining legal requirements and regulations, leveraging leading
technology solutions such as Microsoft Sharepoint and Intelex.
Developed the Waste Management Plans and Pollution Contingency Plans.
Created numerous protocols, practices and projects to minimise environmental impacts.
Aligned the company with Sustainable Saint John, a local organization committed to promoting sustainable
practices through collaborative community engagement.
