Objective: Given the definition and examples of protecting the forest in the ecosystem, student
will be able to:
(C) explain and interpret the information on forest protection with 90% accuracy from the
learning station.
(A) respect other students opinion.
(P) circle most words that relate to protection of the forest on ecosystem in word search puzzle.
CONTENT
Concepts:
An ecosystem includes all of the living things (plants, animals and organisms) in a given
area, interacting with each other, and also with their non-living environments (weather, earth,
sun, soil, climate, and atmosphere). Rainforests are the most complex and species-rich ecosystem
on Earth.
Illegal logging, Over-harvesting, Agricultural conversion keep Forests disappearing. At
unprecedented rates, wildlife habitat is being destroyed, species are going extinct, soils are
eroding, water safety is declining and the effects of climate change are intensifying. Humans
are the most dangerous creature to the destruction of the forest in the ecosystem.
It is important to keep the beauty of the forest. All living things in the forest do the
interacting in their community. The forest makes our environment looks more attractive.
This will help to have a vibrant ecosystem. The living things in the forest will have a great
generation.

Ways we can help to protect our forest:

Skills: Listen for key words from definition, Recite the step of calculation, Solve problems
Attitude: Help each group members to stay focus,

Language arts: Terms for Vocabulary
Introduction: (6 mins.) Explore
Using the mix- freeze share strategy, student will say one animal and its habitat to the person
who they will meet. This will be vice versa. Student will perform this two times. Teacher will
place student into a group using color of which student will receive the strip with a question on
it. Student will get in their groups according to the color of the paper that they receive
Questions:
1. What is habitat?
2. Name one animal and its habitat?
3. What is the relationship of animals to the forest?
Development:

Procedures
Teacher will explain the purpose of working together in a learning station.
Teacher will directed student into the learning stations according to their colored paper
and will stay four minutes in each station. Student will carefully explore the information.
Teacher will tap twice on a table for a rotation in clock wise direction to the next learning
station 1, 2, and 3.

This is how humans destroy and

damage the forest in the ecosystem.
Humans are the most dangerous
creature that destroys the forest in
the ecosystem.

Explain: (8 mins.)
In their small group, student will be given four minutes to explain to their members what they
have learned from the learning stations. Then using their color code student will take turn to
answer questions.
Questions:
1. State the important message from the learning station?
2. What are ways we can improve our society from protecting the forest?
3. How human beings can change their attitudes towards the forest?
4. Who will benefit from the forest?
Elaborate: (10 mins)
Teacher will elaborate on protecting the foresting using visual aids similar to the learning
station; have student pay attention keenly. Teacher will accept any thought from the student and
teacher will elaborate on it too.

Closure: (6 mins)
Teacher and student will summarize the information taught using a graphic organizer; chain of
events on newsprint.

Protecting the forest in the ecosystem

An ecosystem includes all of the living things (plants, animals and organisms) in a given
area, interacting with each other, and also with their non-living environments
Rainforests are the most complex and species-rich ecosystem on Earth.
Illegal logging, Over-harvesting, Agricultural conversion keep Forests disappearing.
Wildlife habitat is being destroyed, species are going extinct, soils are eroding, water
safety is declining and the effects of climate change are intensifying.
Protecting the forest will keep the animal and living organism safe in their habitat

Conclusion: Evaluate: (12 mins.)

Using the same color group, each group member will be given a puzzle word search sheet
with words on describing the forest in the ecosystem.

Extended Activity: Student will design a poster demonstrating protecting the forest in the
ecosystem for assignment. It will be collected and display in the classroom.
