In this module, you will be assessed throughout the subject by using different elements of
work. To pass the subject, you must have an overall mark of 50%. The table below is an

A. Late Submission

A 10% deduction per day of total coursework marks (excluding weekends and public
holidays).
Late submission after 5 days of the due date results in an automatic 0% for
coursework. The student will be barred from the final examination.

B. Deliverables
Students must submit all materials supporting their coursework listed in the deliverable
section.

Please make sure that you are aware of the rules concerning plagiarism. If you are
unclear about them, please consult your program coordinator/ lecturer.

Plagiarism is presenting somebody elses work as your own. It includes:


copying information directly from the Web or books without referencing the
material;
submitting joint coursework as an individual effort;
copying another students coursework;
stealing coursework from another student and submitting it as your own
Suspected plagiarism will be investigated. If plagiarism is found to be occurred in the
students coursework, it will be dealt with according to the procedures set down by the
university/college.

The coursework should contain a cover page, content of the coursework, proper intext citations and a list of references.
You are required to use the Harvard referencing system.
You should bind your coursework with the coursework cover as the 1st page.

Group Assignment (20%)
Students are required to form a group of 4 persons to develop a strategic planning by
applying the Strategic Management Process which is recommended by Robbins and Coulter
for a new business.
Students are asked to conduct additional research from alternative sources to support your
discussions and apply the SWOT analysis, Porters Generic Strategy and another analytical
tool.
The assignment should consist of cover page, content page, introduction, analysis,
discussions, recommendation, conclusion, appendix (if applicable) and references.
Students are required to state the word count on the cover page.

Group Presentation (10%)


Students are required to carry out a group power point presentation to explain their group
assignment.
ALL members MUST participate in the group presentation. The presentation of each group
should take no more than 12 minutes ( 10% is allowed). A question and answer session will
be held after the presentation.
