Depress preset #1 to increment left most digit to correspond to
the desired code (1000's place)
Depress preset #2 to increment the second left digit (100'S
place) to the desired code.
Depress Preset #3 to increments the ten's digit, to the desired
code
Depress preset #4 to increments the ones place. To the desired
code
once the desired code is displayed on the radios display,
depress and hoid the tuning up or seek up button to enter the
code.

What If I entered the wrong code?

If the security code is entered incorrectly the radio display

will indicate 1 and 1000 agarn

The user gets one more chance to correctly enter the security
code. If the code is entered incorrectly the second time the
display will indicate 2 than "SAFE"

How manv tries do_I get to enter the pode corre_gtly?

You get 2 tries, than yolr are locked out, i.e. the radio will not
al1ow you to enter another code.

Can I restet the radio to accept more tries?

o Yes, you must turn the S-contact

on, and the radio power on.

for one hour continuous. After an hour you will eet 2 more
tries.

If the power is intemrpted during the t hour, the hour timer

starts over.

What if I forget mv securitv code?

o You must contact you VW dealer, who will get the radio serial
number and have it ran through a vW code box. This box
uses a mathematical algorithm to determine the correct
security code from the receiver serial number.

Do I need to enter the securit code if the batte

disconnected or run down?

o In general yes, however if the vehicle is equipped with the

uplevel I.P. cluster , when the radio is initially powered up the
cluster sends a code to the radio which the radio stores. When
a battery disconnect occurs the radio will compare the cluster
code with the code it has stored, if the two codes match the
radio will unlock without entering the 4 digit code.

How do I enter Test Mode?

o Switch radio to AM or FM mode (Test mode is only accessed in

Press and hold the "F/8" (fadelbalance) button greater than 10 seconds
to enter test mode. Note. Note Fade will be activated initially when
the F/B button is first depressed but wili than switch to test mode after
the 10 seconds.
The tirst information to be displayed will be the radio supplier, "RAD
DEz" which designates the radio as a Delphi radio.
Press the CD mode button or Tape mode button to scroll through the
various test mode options.
