The treatment of diseases by the application of magnets to the surface of the body
is called Magnetotherapy.
Power of Magnets
Usually the power of the magnets used therapeutically may vary from 300 to 3000
Gauss Units.
Guidelines & Precautions in using Magnets
Best time is in the morning after bath.
No cold thing should be drunk for at least half an hour after applying
magnets.
Bath should not be taken for 2 hours after application of magnets.
Strong magnet should not be applied immediately after taking full meals.
Strong magnets should not be applied to pregnant ladies, children and
delicate parts of the body like brain, eyes, heart, etc.
Patients should not touch floor immediately after the treatment.
The patient or therapist should not keep mobile phones nearby to the
magnets.
Application of strong magnets for long time may result in some
inconvenience like headache, insomnia, etc. if such inconvenience is felt,
then the contact of magnets should be discontinued immediately.
Homeopathic medicine, Zincum Metallicum antidotes the effects of the
magnet. Hence before starting the magnetic treatment inform the consent
doctor regarding medicine history.
Opposite poles of strong flat magnets should not be clasped together. Finger
should not be allowed to come between them as they may be crushed.

1. General Application
General application is given in case of ailments not centered in any particular part
of the body but those affecting major portion of the body.
This requires treatment by two different poles of the magnets of similar shape, sign
and strength.

The general rules for application of magnets are as follows:

Local Application
In local application the two poles of the magnet is applied to the affected part of
body directly, next to the skin.
This is done when the ailment is localized in any particular part of the body. The
selection of the correct poles of a magnet for spot application on the body is very
important in magnetic treatment.
Example: In cases of disease due to infection, North Pole should be applied.
In cases of pain and swelling where no infection is suspected, South Pole should be
applied.
Magnetized Water

Water can be magnetized by using both the poles. According to the properties of
poles, water charged through magnet can be used in different ailments.
Preparation of Magnetized water:
A medium sized or bigger sized magnets are used in close contact with the
vessel or glass jar from outside. Magnetism passes through glass and
therefore water assimilates magnetic field.
The glass jar is kept over the magnet for at least 12 hours or up to 24 hours.
The water which has to be filled in glass jar or bottles is first cleaned and
boiled.
After filling, the bottles are kept over magnets of different poles for 12 to 24
hours for charging.
As the water gets charged by 24 hours it can be used for different ailments.
The combined magnetized effect can be gained by combining the water of
both poles.
Dosage:
For adults: - 2 ounces or about 50 ml at a time.
Best taken in morning before breakfast
For children: - 1 ounce at a time, thrice daily
For infants: - 1 to 2 teaspoon at a time, thrice daily
In case of fever the dose of magnetized water is taken every 2 hours.

Oil can also be charged through magnets.
Different oils can be used for different ailments, according to their property.
The combined effect of property of oil and magnetism can be gained.
Example: - Mustard oil charged in South Pole can be used for pain, stiffness, etc.
Oils can be charged same like water.

Effects of Magnet
When a magnet is applied, magnetic waves pass through the tissues and
secondary currents are induced which clashes with magnetic waves and
produce heat in the cells. The impacting heats are very effective to reduce
pains and swelling, etc.
Movement of hemoglobin in blood vessels is accelerated while calcium and
cholesterol deposits in blood are decreased. The blood is cleansed and
circulation is increased. The activity of heart eases with fatigue and pain
disappears.
Functions of autonomic nerves are normalized so that the internal organs
controlled by them regain their proper function.
Secretion of the hormones is promoted and all the ailments due to lack of
hormones are relieved.
