CLOSING 31/08/2015 21/09/2015 | 1 Note that this applies to learners in Standard 1-7 in primary schools and Form 1-3 in secondary schools. Il, TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTITUTES, PRIMARY AND DIPLOMA TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES ‘These categories of institutions will not be affected. Ill, KCSE AND KCPE EXAMINATIONS. The 2015 KCSE and KCPE Examinations will continue as scheduled. ‘This means all examination candidates in Standard 8 and Form 4 will remain in school 0 do their revision and the said examinations. ‘The revision of the term dates for Primary and Secondary Schools has been necessitated by the fact that very little or no teaching and learning has been going on in most of these institutions, in the last three weeks with an exception of examination classes, As a result, ension has been building up among learners, who have been left idle under the ‘cate of very few teachers. Some incidences of insecurity in schools have been reported bby Heads of Institutions and Field Officers during the said period, Im order to safeguard the security of the leamers, staff and school property, and thus Address the concerns of parents and other key stakeholders, the Ministry has revised the term dates as stated above. Further, note that other term dates will be communicated in due course, ‘The Ministry wishes to thank those teachers who continue to assist prepare the 2015 ‘candidates for examinations. It is expected that TSC teachers who are in school and BOM teachers, will continue to teach and prepare KCPE and KCSE candidates. Those already engaged in KNEC examination management will also be expected to perform their duties as per the KNEC Act 2012. County Directors of Education and TVET are requested to produce enough copies of this circular for all schools, Teacher Training Colleges and ‘Technical Training Institutes respectively within their jurisdiction. ee a ‘Ag.
