JOB DESCRIPTION

Tower Research Capital India Pvt. Ltd., an affiliate of the high-frequency proprietary trading firm Tower
Research Capital LLC (Tower), seeks a highly-skilled Systems Analyst to join our Systems team in India.
The Systems Analyst will help oversee the maintenance of over 2,800 servers in 50 locations worldwide
while supporting more than 400 users globally. Tower has over 150 high-capacity, low-latency, direct
private lines between our sites, and we use the latest high-performance servers, network switches, and
network cards. This role is available at Tower Research Capital Indias office in Gurgaon, India.

Responsibilities

Debugging dropped packets, whether at the network, NIC, OS, or application layers
Troubleshooting kernel panics and system hangs
Analyzing performance issues
Fine-tuning processes to run with the least jitter
Supporting an office of over 50 people (with most coming from IIT) in Gurgaon, India

and supporting other remote users in Asia


Directing support for our continuously active servers, lines, and low-latency network

during the India daytime hours


Installing, configuring, and deploying fully-distributed Red Hat Linux systems and

desktops
Collaborating with the Systems team in New York to maintain Towers existing

colocation facilities across Asia and to set up new facilities


Taking a role in researching, testing, recommending, implementing, and maintaining

cutting- edge, ultra low-latency systems and network technologies


Participating in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

git, make, rpm, ping, tcpdump, wireshark, nfsstat, traceroute.

A technical degree from an accredited university


Minimum of 5 years experience in Red Hat Linux administration in a financial

services, internet service provider, or telecommunications environment


Experience in Linux Kernel tuning, configuration management with cfengine, Linux

network performance management/troubleshooting, hardware testing/integration and IT


security
Experience maintaining Cisco, Windows, and PC hardware
Fluency in at least one scripting/coding language
Hands-on knowledge of SSH, iptables administration, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
Experience with Open Source applications to build enterprise-level systems (i.e.,

Nagios, SmokePing, MRTG, etc.)


Proven troubleshooting experience
Expertise in maintaining Cisco ports/VLANs/dot1.x settings in any office environment

Ability to read and interpret English-language technical documents


Ability to speak business-level English
