Main Objective of the Role
To handle direct and indirect tax matters of all group companies, O&M partners. Plan,
coordinate and comply with all statutory requirements pertaining to corporate and
personal taxation matters for group. Minimize additional tax liability by keeping up with
all the relevant provisions and applicable laws.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities

• To ensure compliance as per the provisions of Income Tax Act, Fringe Benefit Tax,
Wealth Tax Act, Service Tax Act and Value Added Tax by various entities of the group
• Effective tax planning for the group to for payment of optimum amount of tax in
accordance with law
• Effective statutory of the M & A deals and other contacts in order to optimizing the
incidence & outflow of taxes
• Comply with corporate and personal tax matters by ensuring timely filing of returns
and advising for payment of taxes etc. Coordinate with Unit financial controllers to
obtain various reports from Auditors required for compilation and filing of various
returns
• Represent various entities before the assessing authorities under statutes mentioned
above
• Track various amendments and changes in laws and to intimate the same to the
concerned departments of group entities and to minimize tax liability by interpreting
changes in various sections, provisions and clauses of the applicable regulations in favor
of the organization
• Defend various notices and appeals etc. filed by revenue departments and coordinate
with the senior counsels to represent the matters in courts
• Monitor, review and guide the team to set up effective record keeping systems and
proper maintenance of records as per applicable laws and regulations
• Build, liaison and maintain external network and strong relations with revenue
authorities to minimize additional tax liability
• To ensure that all the approvals from taxing authorities are obtained in efficient &
timely manner for new hospitals as also for other matters, in order to reduce the cash flow
impact of taxes
• To follow up and seek expeditious settlement of litigations and/or refunds from the
tax departments
