GET TO KNOW THE PROFESSOR:

The Holy Spirit

WEEK 4
The Holy Spirit is actually the power of God thats sent to us. He makes the
presence of God real to us. JOYCE
In JOHN 16:7, Jesus said: It is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you
that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper,
Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close
fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship
with you].
This scripture clearly shows us that God wants us to have close fellowship with the
Holy Spirit, to know Him and have relationship with Him.
According to JOHN 16:7, who is the Holy Spirit to us? How does He want to be
involved in our lives?

When we accept Christ as our Savior and are born again, the Holy Spirit comes to
live in us. And the amazing thing is, He is in every believer on the face of the Earth!
He is not limited to being with one person in one place. Hes everywhere, all the
time.
The Holy Spirit is always with us, and He wants to give us wisdom and guidance in
every area of our lives.
JOHN 16:13 says, When He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He
will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own
message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father;
He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and
declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

God wants you to have power to live your everyday life with peace, joy and the
ability to do the right thing in every circumstance you face. In Christ, we are meant
to have abundant life, not just barely get by, surviving life with enough of Jesus to
get into Heaven.
Wherever you are in your life today, and whatever your circumstances may be,
choose to trust God and His Word, which says He loves you, Hes with you all the
time, and He will empower you through the Holy Spirit to do what you need to do.
The Holy Spirit is your Teacher, and He will show you how to live in the Truth.
