  TITLE OF TOURNAMENT 
  SPORTECXCEL – NSC – MILO – MTBC MALAYSIAN TENPIN BOWLING JUNIOR CIRCUIT 2010 
 
2.  OBJECTIVE 
To promote the sport of Tenpin Bowling amongst the youth in Malaysia and to give them more tournament exposure.

4.  CATEGORIES 
There will be 4 categories in all contested.  They are as listed below: ‐ 
1. Boys Open 
2. Girls Open 
3. Boys Graded 
4. Girls Graded 
 
5.  ELIGIBILITY 
  5.1  All bowlers born in the year 1991 and after. 
 
  5.2  Open Category 
Bowlers who have an MTBC average of 181 and above for boys and 171 and above for girls.   
 
  5.3  Graded Category 
Bowlers who have an MTBC average of below 181 for boys and below 171 for girls. 
 
  5.4  All bowlers must be a paid‐up member of a state association. 
  5.5  Each bowler is allowed to bowl in only one category. 
  5.6  All National Youth bowlers have to bowl in the Open Category. 
  5.7  A bowler shall remain in his/her category throughout the circuit.   
   
6.  FEES 
  6.1  Graded and Open Category 
A fee of RM75.00 per bowler shall be collected upon registration. (RM60 for games fees, RM15 for registration 
fees)   
 
7.   SCHEDULE 
The schedule for each leg is subject to change due to availability of lanes and the number of participants.

8.  RANKING SYSTEM & QUALIFICATION FOR THE GRAND PRIX FINALS

8.2  Grand Prix Finalist 
8.2.1  Total number of bowlers to qualify for the GP Finals will be based on their total ranking points.  The 
number of top bowlers from each category are as follows: ‐

8.2.2  The top 13 Boy's Open plus 3 from the East Malaysia rankings, top 10 Girl's Open plus 2, top 17 Boy's 
Graded plus 3, top 14 Girl's Graded plus 2, based on the rankings will qualify for the GP Finals. 
8.2.3   Bowlers (West Malaysia only) must compete in a minimum of 4 circuit legs to be eligible to qualify 
for the Grand Prix Finals. 
8.2.4  If a qualified bowler for the Grand Prix Finals does not show up or can’t bowl, there will be no call for 
a reserve. 
 
9.   FORMAT OF COMPETITION 
  9.1  Round 1 
9.1.1  All bowlers in the Graded and Open divisions will bowl a total of 8 games.   
9.1.2  The  top  48  bowlers  in  the  Boys  Graded,  top  28  bowlers  in  the  Girls  Graded,  top  20  bowlers  in  the 
Boys Open and top 16 bowlers in the Girls Open will proceed to Round Two(2) 
9.1.3  Bowlers will change lanes every 2 games.   
9.1.4  If there is a tie on the last qualifying position, then the bowler who has the higher last game score will 
be placed higher.  If the last games are still tied, then the bowler who has the higher 2nd last game 
score will be placed higher etc. 
 
9.2  Round 2 
9.2.1  The  top  48  bowlers  in  the  Boys  Graded,  top  28  bowlers  in  the  Girls  Graded,  top  20  bowlers  in  the 
Boys Open and top 16 bowlers in the Girls Open will bowl a total of 6 games.   
9.2.2  No reserves will be called.   
9.2.3  Their score from Round 1 will be brought forward and added to the 6 games.   
9.2.4  The top 8 bowlers in all divisions will proceed to the Knock‐Out Round. 
9.2.5  Bowlers will change lanes every 2 games. 
9.2.6  If there is a tie on the last qualifying position, then the bowler who has the higher last game score will 
be placed higher.  If the last games are still tied, then the bowler who has the higher 2nd last game 
score will be placed higher etc. 
 
 
9.3 Knock‐Out Round  
Quarter Final 
9.3.1 Each category (Boys Open, Girls Open, Boys Graded, Girls Graded) will feature the top 8 bowlers from 
Round Two(2). 
9.3.2 Top 2 bowlers in each category will be seeded as 1 and 2 respectively. 
9.3.3 Bowlers No. 3, 5 & 7 will bowl against each other in Group One and bowlers No. 4,6 & 8 will against 
each other in Group 2. 
9.3.4 Each bowler will bowl 2 games. 
9.3.5 The  bowler  with  the  higher  total  pinfall  of  2  games  will  be  declared  the  winner.    In  the  event  that 
there is a tie in total pinfalls after 2 games, a 1 ball throw will decide the winner.  
9.3.6 Loser in this round will only drop a maximum of 2 position only.  
9.3.7 Lane allocations of the Knock‐out Round will be determined by the organizers. 
 
Semi Final 
9.3.8 Winner from Group One (3,5 & 7) will meet seeded bowler 2 and winner from Group 2   will  meet 
seeded bowler 1 in a 1 plus 1 match play. 
9.3.9 Seeded bowler wins the first game will then proceed to the final. If seeded bowler lost 
in the first game then one more ‘sudden death’ game to decide the winner to the 
final.   
9.3.10 In the  event that there is a tie in total pinfalls in the ‘sudden death’ game, a 1 ball 
throw will decide the winner. 
   
Final 
9.3.11 The final will be played on a best of 3 games format. 
9.3.12 Bowler who wins 2 games straight will be the champion. 
9.3.13 Bowler each wins 1 game, then third and last game to decide the champion.

10.  GRAND PRIX FINALS 
There are no game fees during the Grand Prix Finals.  All grand prix finalist will be given food and hotel allowances.  
Transport  allowances  will  be  given  to  the  West  Malaysia  qualifiers.    East  Malaysia  qualifiers  will  be  reimbursed  air‐
ticket.     
    
  10.1  Open & Graded Category 
 
    10.1.1  First Round 
• All bowlers will bowl a total of 12 games over 2 blocks of 6 games each. 
• Bowlers will change lanes after every game.   
• The top 8 bowlers from each category will qualify for the Knock‐Out Round. 
 
    10.1.2  Knock‐Out Round  
    See rules and regulations in 9.3.

11.   ATTIRE 
• Jeans and round neck t‐shirts are not allowed. 
• Boys are not allowed to wear shorts.   
 
12.  PRIZES 
  12.1  Graded & Open Category 
• The top 4 bowlers in each category will receive medals and Milo products sponsored by Milo. 
• The  top  8  bowlers  in  the  knock‐out  round  in  each  category  will  receive  incentives  according  to  their 
position at the end of the tournament.  The incentives are as follows: ‐ 
• Bowlers who lose in the quarter‐finals will receive RM60. 
• Bowlers who lose in the semi‐finals will receive RM100. 
• Bowlers who lose in the finals will receive RM200. 
• The champions will receive RM300. 
 
12.2  Grand Prix Finals 
12.2.1 The top 4 bowlers in each category will receive trophies and Milo products sponsored by Milo. 
12.2.2 Bowlers positioned 5th – 8th will receive Milo products sponsored by Milo. 
    12.2.3  The top 4 bowlers in the knock‐out round in each category will receive prize money.     
      The prize money list is as follows:‐ 
• Boys Graded and Boys Open 
¾ The Champions will receive RM600. 
¾ The 1st runners’ up will receive RM400. 
¾ The 3rd and 4th placed winners will receive RM200 each. 
• Girls Graded and Girls Open 
¾ The Champions will receive RM400. 
¾ The 1st runners’ up will receive RM300. 
¾ The 3rd and 4th placed winners will receive RM200 each. 
12.2.4  The Boys and Girls Open Champion will be fully sponsored to represent Malaysia in 1 International 
Tournament. 
 
12.3  Perfect Game Award 
• A perfect game award of RM1000.00 per leg including the GP Finals will be awarded to the first bowler 
who shoots a 300 game.  In the event of more than 1 bowler hitting a perfect game, the award will be 
shared equally amongst them.     
• Announcements will be made after a bowler has achieved 7, 10 and 11 consecutive strikes in a row.
